1985 Jeep CJ Custom Additional Info:
Following description is from previous owner that convinced me to purchase: "Up for auction is my Extremely Custom Built 1985 Jeep CJ7. I put many years of thought and research into the build of this Jeep. In fact after the research it took one year to put everything together and make her what she is today. I first decided that I wanted a fuel injected 350 and decided to purchase a good low mileage Corvette LT1 as the power plant and matched it up to a automatic 4L60E transmission. I used an Atlas II transfer case. I used a very high quality Hot Wires wiring harness for the electrical system and had the Corvette ECU sent away and rescanned to make sure everything ran perfect. To try and keep cost down a little I decided to totally rework the stock axles and build them to the max. They have the the front disc brake conversion and both are full floated so that they can be disengaged. The axles have also been ARB air locked, 4.88 gears and chrome alloy shafts. After that project was completed I decided to tear out the leaf springs and put a fully adjustable Black Diamond long arm suspension under her along with coil over spring with a 2’’ body lift to get her over any obstacle imaginable. I decided to use 37x12.50-17 ProComp res and 17’’ ProComp wheels that really set the Jeep off. For on board air I used the stock AC compressor and the back bumper as the tank. I plumbed the back bumper so that you can run a hose from it to run small air tools or even pump up tires. I felt that this was a very unique way for a full air system. The entire inner tub was Rhino Lined so nothing would rust out. I took a lot of me and thought to custom build the dash. I added full Auto Meter gauges and an Art Carr shifter which sits on a custom shifter box that blends into the dash and center console nicely. A full custom fabricated roll cage was built and high back seats bolted to it. 2 heavy duty 3 point harnesses were added to keep the driver and passenger safely in their seats. The same 2 point lap belts were added for the rear passengers. To wrap up the exterior of the Jeep I decided to Body Armor and Flat Fender the entire Jeep. I even used a custom made louvered sheet for the top of the hood that completes the looks of the Jeep. I have a full hardtop and 3 sets of doors, canvas half, hard half and full. It also has a full length bikini. The front bumper is a custom made stinger bumper that a winch can be mounted too. There are so many custom made modifications that have been added to this Jeep that I’m sure there are a few that are missing. The best aspect about this Jeep is its 100% streetable and Safe and can be driven to your favorite offroad site and driven back without a problem as long as you treat her with respect. The suspension is a little on the light side but that is the way I wanted her for offroad purposes. This Jeep will have NO Problem going down the road at 65 and keeping up with traffic on an everyday purpose if you so decide too." Everything was just as described when I purchased. The Jeep has approx 5500 miles on it since the total rebuild 8 years ago. It has been garaged kept since I purchased it from the previous owner(builder) in 2011. In that time, it has been off the pavement only once. Builder spent approx $29000 to put this beast together. I paid $23000 and had it shipped from Maryland. I am asking for $21000 firm. I have extra pics I can send to an email address. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
