1981 Jeep Wagoneer Additional Info:
1981 Jeep Cherokee Limited (or Grand Wagoneer they were later known as) 4x4 with just 51,000 original, unmolested miles! I am Jeep crazy and collect all kinds ( I own around ten (Jeeps) at this current time) and I am trying to get to the point to where I can afford to keep one of these beloved Wagoneer’s without having to sell it eventually. This one is my favorite by far to date, it is truly like getting into my 2011 Ram with 50,000 miles and driving it. EVERYTHING works like a 50K mile vehicle should and drives like a newer vehicle. I would drive this Jeep across country in a second, so no need to ask will it make the trip back to …wherever. We all know it’s rust that plaques these Wagons but this one has a pretty cool back story and has never been subject to any salt (maybe rain) and has always been kept in heated storage. The knitted blanket in the rear seat must forever stay with this Jeep per the ex owner’s wife. She knitted it for the Grand kids to keep warm in the back seat on their trips to the lake early spring and late fall. The folks I bought it from (although it was in a friends name for insurance reasons for a short time but it was mine) owned a gas station and it just sat in the back corner with their boat. A friend of mine found it and they wanted to sell them as a package deal, wish I would have had the money to buy both because they looked great together. The husband passed away but she told stories of not just the blanket she knitted but about how ‘Steve’ her Grandson how it would be his job to wash the Jeep once they reached their lake house and so on and so forth. I had to have it. The Jeep was just incredible in so many ways with the exception of some fading paint here and there. I just went over it from head to toe and made her like new again!! Just look at those rocker panels!!! Those are original to the Jeep. There was one small rust repair area made to the one rear quarter not really even visible until the paint was stripped. All the door jams and under the hood paint is factory and is a dead match. Had a very expensive and proper exterior paint job done as well as fresh oil change, wiper blades and all general maintenance things such as belts, hoses ext.. I tried so hard to capture the condition of this jeep in the photo’s. All the glass has no scratches or fogging (unheard of). All the stainless trim is perfect as well as the rubber..just look at the one photo of the rear window surrounding rubber close up. I wanted to take more pictures today and I wasn’t about to take it out in the rain. Any photos of any area, please just ask. Yes the grill is from a newer model, some of you ‘experts’ may notice. I have the original grill, I just like this one better and it comes with the Jeep. Ten minute project to change it back. I myself prefer the wrap around tail lights of the earlier models but everyone likes something different. Besides everything is in perfect working order, I also converted the A/C to R134 and it will freeze you out and can be recharged anywhere!! I need to sell this Jeep before Christmas, I am not fishing, I am selling. This is a Jeep I could 'ask' $39,000 for but I am going to set a very low reserve and hope for the best. You are encouraged to come see this first hand and can and are welcomed to call me at anytime prior to bidding. Although once you bid, you are bidding to own not come take a look at it. I have sold a ton of vehicles, all 100% feedback because I hope that you can say you never met a more stand up guy… But that being said I have had a few bad apples on the other end over the years and won’t tolerate BS. $500 non refundable deposit due at auctions end via Pay Pal. Buyer responsible for picking up and or having car shipped. If you do not have the money in hand and immediately available do not bid. If you have a sick family member that may take a turn for the worse, same thing, refrain from bidding. It's a shame I have to say these things, which to me are common sense, but after selling cars on here for almost twenty years, nothing ever surprises me. Travis at 412-974-6789.
Want a good read, Google Bloomsberg Wagoneer article. Ebay wouldn't let me put a link to it on here.
