This truck has been through a few different iterations since I first purchased it in 1999. Many of the hard and expensive parts are complete.
The 2.5 ton Rockwell axles are loaded with Detroit lockers and are both steering axles. The huge expense to convert them to large 4 wheel disc brakes is already done using F550 dual piston calipers and F700 large rotors. It is all held together by BlakFalken welded brackets (look them up to find CAD video). The axles alone are worth $3,300 apiece as they are dressed. It also comes with a custom bracket and a hydroboost unit with master cylinder ready to bolt on and plumb to the 4 corners. The pinion mounted brakes are currently operable on a second separate Willwood pedal and master cylinder mounted in the approximate location of where the clutch pedal would go and can be removed once the main system is complete.
The engine in it is a 1976 500 Cadillac motor mated to a Th400. The engine has a MT15 cam, shaft rocker system and Edelbrock aluminum intake. Do to sitting the engine had a stuck valve and piston. Just assume it needs some degree of rebuild or refresh or replace with your choice of engine. I was able to get the piston free but there was some rust on the cylinder wall. After a little clean up I was able to get it all put back together and started. But it has blowby to some degree. It is not currently running.
The Jeep also comes with a rebuilt and never installed 4l80E 4wd, np203/205 doubler (not rebuilt ford np205) and an older standalone TCI transmission control unit for the 4l80E. I purchased the control unit used and never had a chance to verify operation but it should work (also has carb mounted TPS). The truck currently does not have a transfercase or driveshafts installed. The original t/c mount is available and all the pieces for the deuce and half 1410 driveshafts are there to use once your measurements are known.
The Saginaw power steering gearbox is held in place with a solid bracket rather than using the small 3 hole mount they used from the factory for the manual box. It has been tapped for power assist using a hydraulic cylinder on the axle. From there the steering gearbox is connected to the ididit gm style tilt steering column and on the other side the pitman arm and tie rod connect to a raised steering bracket on the Rockwell axle for good steering geometry.
As you can see from the pictures it has a cab mounted cage tied into the chassis. The body is in decent shape with most panels very straight. The body lift can be removed or replaced. Over the years the floor pans have developed some rust. New panels will need to be put into place. I’m not sure we are talking entire floor pans, just pieces in the front.
Two-piece beadlock 20” wheels and new 395/85R20 Michelin XZL 46” tires are also included and also look just right on this truck.
There is still some work to be done and the largest new expense will likely be the engine. It wouldn’t take much to get the Cadillac to run strong again but other’s may want to replace with something else. I have a clear title matching the s/n so you should not have any issue titling and licensing this truck. I also have numerous other parts in boxes that will go with the truck for a reasonable offer; new wiring harness, new streetrod wiper system, used 12v hydraulic power pak for rear steering etc. Have the top bows and an older canvas top that is losing it seems but it is better than nothing.
It does not have a tailgate on the bed. It also comes with the hardware for troop seats and cargo canvas.
The truck is located near Houston TX and will need to be winched onto a trailer to move. It is sold as-is where-is and the buyer will need to arrange pick-up or shipping within two weeks after end of auction. A $500 non-refundable down payment is due via pay pal upon 2 days of close of auction the balance is due via certified cashiers check, wire transfer or other approved method however the truck will not be delivered until all proceeds are verified. Truck will only be sold to bidders in the USA as I’m not an export expert and will not explore nor risk violating export laws. It encourage to see the vehicle before bidding.
