The most desirable combination of iconic and undiluted Jaguar style, ower, nd refinement. Aside from being heralded as the most beautiful car of all time, he 1965 to 1967 series 1 FHC also boasted the larger capacity and torquier triple SU carb 4.2 engine and synchromesh gearbox. The lovely glass covered headlamps and the cockpit’s toggle switch gear were retained from previous model years. There were only 4,249 E-Type FHCs produced in LHD between 1965 and 1967, ccording to XKEdata, ignificantly rarer than OTS roadsters of the same vintage.

This is a solid driver kept in one family from 1987 to 2015 but could benefit from a restoration. Mileage indicates 53,062 but may have ticked over.

Mechanically sound, ver $20k in work has been undertaken over the last 600 miles driven. This includes 4 new tires, oils, lugs, lutch, ad fan, alve job, ngine seals, U carbs float / valve / gasket / jet / diaphragm, rake servo / master, ater pump, -belt, istributor rotor / cap, uel pump, ront rotors / pads / caliper rebuild, oolant hoses, attery, luid changes, tc. Cylinder head is non-matching, ndicative of an engine swap at some point in its life. Unfortunately the matching engine is long gone.

According to the Jaguar Heritage Certificate, he original color was opalescent maroon and during a refresh some years ago it was painted old English white. There are many imperfections with the paint finish including bubbling in places, ut nice enough to the untrained eye. The floor panels are solid with no major rust evident but there is surface oxidation in the foot wells and most likely more rust lurking in hidden cracks and seams.

Still a sporty driver, his E Type could continue as such, r a worthwhile restoration project that could include performance upgrades.
