ORIGINAL OWNER 1968 JAGUAR 4.2L XKE E-TYPE SERIES II 4 SPD MANUAL 2+2 COUPE WITH CHROME WIRE WHEELS!West Coast Classics are happy to present a rare 'barn find' (garage really!) example of this coveted original owner car since new, with only one owner until we acquired the car a month ago; 1968 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series II 4 spd manual transmission 2+2 coupe with the legendary and original matching #'s 6 cylinder 4.2L/246HP engine in 'Regency Red' with a 'Biscuit' leather interior and with the rare factory twin cooling fans and adjustable seat backs and five original Jaguar wire chrome wheels and 4 speed manual transmission!The car was previously owned by its one and only original owner, a well known and respected American physicist professor from MIT and author, who had stored the car for most of its life in his dry Berkeley, California enclosed garage before we recently purchased it from him. We have the original sales invoice from this original owner from 'Auto Engineering' of Lexington, MA where it was purchased for $6,264.00 on 8/30/1968 with the trade in of his 1961 Jaguar Mark IV sedan!We had the car inspected by our local independent Jaguar specialists, 'British European' of San Pedro, CA who serviced the car and who have given it a "clean bill of health" for its next owner! The car has virtually perfect compression of 150psi on all 6 cylinders and all new spark plugs, battery, fuel filter & fuel pump, new brake master cylinder & brake booster, new clutch, master & slave cylinders, new cooling hoses, o rings, brake flex hose, & mount and balance 4 new tires.The car is therefore a superb and very fine daily driving example of this rare marque in mostly all original survivor condition with only some very minor imperfections with it's original leather seats and carpets and with the original door panels, headliner and dashboard all in very good condition throughout.
