Vehicle Original VIN : SAJJNACC8CC124181West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this classic 1985 built (incorrectly titled as a 1982 in Arizona) European German delivered in June 1985 LHD Jaguar XJS 3.6L 6 cylinder rare 5 spd Cabriolet with only 38K original miles (61,456 kms) in it's original factory 'Cranberry' color with 'Biscuit' trim and with ownership history since new.Originally purchased in Germany, the very same year it was exported to the U.S to Nevada and then later Arizona. Reportedly always garaged and stored in the U.S only in these two south western dry states and obviously always garaged and covered! The car has been professionally repainted once in its original factory color with all the door and window seals replaced, the interior was also professionally restored as required as were the t-tops & hardtop, a new windshield and rear side windows, rear canvas top and storage bag and steering wheel, original radio cassette, owners service manuals etc. The car has a thick file of service history and records including recently a new A/C compressor with all new R134a freon, new fuel tank sender assembly & new stainless steel clutch line. Gorgeous combination of stunning original factory 'Cranberry Red' color paint (Color Code CEE) with striking original factory alloy wheels and beautiful doeskin 'Biscuit' (Trim Code ADE) leather interior and it's original matching 'Black' Cabriolet top! This particular car must be seen to be truly appreciated! Virtually flawless, extraordinarily rare and a real head-turner!In 1983, the new 3.6-litre Jaguar straight-six engine was introduced along with a new convertible model called the XJ-SC. The coup's rather small rear seats were removed in order to make space for the removable soft top, making it a 2-seat car. The XJ-SC was not a full convertible but was a fixed profile variant with a non-removable centre Targa-type structure, fixed cant rails above the doors, and fixed rear quarter windows. The six-cylinder cars can be identified by a raised bonnet center section.Between 1983 and 1987, the six-cylinder-engined cars were only available with a five-speed manual transmission (Getrag 265), with a four-speed automatic (ZF 4HP22) offered from 1987 onwards. The earlier, manual models were not imported by Jaguar into the United States, which had to wait until the facelift manual 4-litre XJS coup and convertible became available. A V12 powered XJ-SC was introduced in 1985. The first XJ-SC was produced on June 28, 1982, the last January 26, 1988. In all only 5,013 XJ-SC Cabriolets were built. These cars were different in that they had a Targa/Convertible body style with removable Targa panels over the two seater passenger compartment, similar to T-tops, plus a fabric rear section including the rear window; there was an optional hard top for the rear section. Approximately 1,598 Right Hand Drive and 3,416 Left Hand Drive cars built.Whilst there are a small number of the XJ-SC cars with the rear seat conversion. Jaguar Cars only ever produced one such car which was specially built for Princess Diana. The rear roof section on this car was fully secured in place and could not be removed. This conversion was later carried out by several aftermarket companies on owners cars, not with the approval of the works. There were several specials built as there were for other XJS cars, the Princess Diana Cabriolet and there is a very rare Guy Salmon Jubilee Celebration car, only 3 believed to be built a Burberry Special Edition also believed to be only 3 produced. The ostensible 'sports car' replacement for the legendary E-Type but built on a shortened XJ sedan chassis, the beautifully and quite uniquely styled XJS was a nod to the classic GT coupes. Originally introduced as coupes in 1986, the Jaguar XJS-C, a Cabriolet was introduced in Europe in 1985/1986 with a T-Bar structure and removable roof panels, and not until coupe conversions by 'Karmann' in Europe and 'Hess & Eisenhardt' in the U.S.was a convertible available. Impressed by the convertible conversions, Jaguar began production on a factory built convertible in late 1989. This is one of the early and very rare European factory built Cabriolets imported to the US in August 1985 and boasts the 3.6L 6 cylinder engine and rare 5 speed Getrag gearbox.Obviously always garaged with absolutely no rust and no accidents, owned by only one obviously very careful and mature owners since new - never abused, babied all the way! The original factory and simply stunning 'Cranberry Red' color paint is in truly excellent condition as is the original 'Biscuit' color leather seats interior, which is in as outstanding condition as the exterior, with virtually no signs of any wear with the door panels, headliner and the carpets also virtually flawless throughout. The cars original spare wheel is unused and has never left its trunk compartment and the car boasts its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirming its unique and rare heritage and also all its original factory options and accessories including its tool box and Jaguar umbrella. one of the finest engines built by Jaguar, the smooth 3.6L 6 cylinder engine was a worthy successor to the XK series of Jaguar sports cars dating from the late 1940's with a top speed of over 144mph and this particular engine is extremely strong and smooth running with excellent oil pressure and which does not burn or leak oil. This clearly must be one of the very finest examples available anywhere of this classic and increasingly desirable and collectible rare and handsome 1985 Jaguar XJSC Cabriolet 3.6 2 Door Coupe, a truly luxurious and one of the last beautiful hand built cars from Jaguar's legendary Browns Lane, Coventry, England plant. This is the last classically beautiful design built by Jaguar in their long and famous history of classic lines - with these particular XJSC Cabriolet models becoming increasingly hard to find in such all original condition and with such low original miles and with this car having the benefit of obviously very rare and careful long time ownership! This is one sure-fire classic car investment for the Jaguar enthusiast or simply any classic car lover! You will certainly look long and hard to find a finer example of this immaculate and very rare 1985 Jaguar XJSC roadster with no history of any accidents or rust and a clean Carfax report with only 38K original miles available anywhere else!
