1964 Jaguar Other Additional Info:
An impressively rust free 1964 MK2 Jaguar Saloon. This car was taken back to bare metal for a full respray in a modern 2 stage metallic red.New weather stripping installed in door openings, trunk etc. I bought a complete kit, and what is not yet installed is included with the car.It has a 350 cubic inch small block Chevy motor with T350 auto trans. It has HEI ignition and a Quadrajet carb. Nice, easy and reliable.I have just replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the fuel tank and sealed it with an Eastwood kit.Car has a brand new battery. The car runs and drives well, but needs some detailing and finishing under the hood and the interior. The heater box is loose and will need restoration, or replace it with the aftermarket A/C kit made specifically for these cars.https://retroair.com/jaguarairconditioning/mkiis420lhdrhd.htmlGood chrome all round. Trunk handle needs refinishing, missing 'AUTOMATIC' badge from the trunk lid.The rear wheel arches have been reworked in steel (rolled tubing plus the original spats cut down) to look similar to Combes arches. Something that the racing MK2's were known for. They are so strong you could lift the car with them. Although I wouldn't recommend it.Interior is vinyl probably from a later MK2. There is a tear in the drivers seat.Wood trim is often an issue with these cars, this has a full set in good condition.Tires are excellent 'Goodyear Integrity'. Tread depth look almost new. This car has four wheel disk brakes in very good order, but will need new seals. Brake pistons and cylinders are a stainless steel upgrade. The parking brake works well.I had considered finding a rusty MK2 with an original Jaguar engine, and combining the two to make one original car, especially since now, MK2's are increasing in value. There are many cars advertised online for over $50,000.Lots of money spent and a huge amount of work has been done so far, and this is a great car to take to the next level, either as a Chevy engined hot rod, or find a Jaguar engine and increase its value considerably.Clear Florida Title in my name. Please ask questions. I am happy to send additional pictures and descriptions if required. Just send me an email address.
