1987 Jaguar XJ6 Additional Info:
Offered up for your future enjoyment is a 1987 Jaguar XJ6. A SBC and 700r4 automatic transmission were installed for added reliability and a much lower mechanical maintenance cost. A custom stainless steel exhaust system was installed to add longevity and a nice exhaust note. The vehicle seemingly floats down the road on the wonderfully engineered jaguar suspension. This is by far one of the most comfortable and smoothest cars I have ever driven. Runs, Drives, and Stops great. Come check it out for yourself!

Full Disclosure:-Vehicle has been repainted at some point. Its a beautiful British racing green. Looks to have had the clear coat hand sanded and polished for a nice finish. With all that being said, it has its flaws here and there. Has some minor rust in inconspicuous areas, some dings, some chipped paint in the lower corners of the trunk opening from previous owners not "soft closing" the trunk as Jaguar describes. Overall very nice, driver quality car
-Engine does smoke on start up. Tell tale sign of needing valve guide seals. Pretty easy job on a SBC, but never bothered me enough to do it. Never had to add oil between changes because of it, and a little extra upper cylinder lubricant never hurt anybody.
-Has a small power steering leak. Have not looked into the source of the leak. I just add fluid when it starts to get whiny. It's not than common of an occurrence. Perhaps daily use would require more fill ups, but under light use it hasn't been an issue.
-A/C and Heat work. Switching between the two can take awhile. Probably just a combination of a slow heater control valve and Lucas wiring. It also seems lately that the A/C fan only works on low speed.
-Still has the dual saddle tanks, but the problematic switching valve has been removed and the tanks have been tied together at the bottom. By doing this, you can still fill from either side (or both for a quick dual tank fill up) and you don't ever have to worry about switching tanks. Tank level automatically equalizes and they drain evenly. Fuel gauge works and is accurate but after fill up it takes some driving to register (theres Lucas again)
-Has black seat covers. Original Tan leather seats are beat up pretty good. The black seat covers are made for these seats, so they fit well.
I tried explaining all of the issues to the best of my knowledge. If you are local and can make the trip, coming to view the car in person is always favorable. Don't hesitate to ask me questions or request more pictures.
