1986 Jaguar XJS Restomod Additional Info:
This long, low, and wide 1986 Jaguar XJS coupe proves that a great design is timeless. But where the performance may have once been lacking, this special build now has a 502 cubic-inch Chevy big block expertly installed under the hood. So dig into all the details on how this jaguar earns its Bad Kitty nickname.
The first impression this one gives off is classic elegance. After all, the long hood, low-slung body, and flying buttress rear are part of the classic European grand touring experience. The bodywork looks nice, and everything is well-respected, right down to the classic Jaguar five-spoke alloys. There's only about 5,000 miles on the whole build, and they even added a high-gloss application of Marina Blue paint on top. Of course, we all know that's a famous Chevy color. So while it looks elegant, it's a subtle indication of the monster in the engine bay. The same goes for the custom cowl hood and 502 badging on the decklid.
Just like the exterior, you really have to pay attention to the interior to see the upgrades. After all, tweed cloth is exactly what you'd expect from a classic British sport coat. But this is a full custom setup used to unite premium elements like the leather inserts in the seats as well as the wood inserts on the doors and dash. And since the rear seats were only for occasional use, this custom interior turns that area into handy storage. Like a proper luxury Jag, you have nice features, like power windows, an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo w/USB input for your phone, and provisions for R134a air conditioning. The factory sports steering wheel gives you an excellent view of the crisp gauges. And these are working well in conjunction with the big upgrade under the hood.
Jaguars have always been quite good at accepting Chevy power, and this is the ultimate presentation. The 502 cubic-inch crate motor is the biggest of the big blocks, and it has been expertly installed to look like it belonged here since day one. It has all the best performance pieces, like aluminum heads, a large Edelbrock 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, and Jet Hot coated headers. Plus, it's supported by the right components, like serpentine belts, upgraded pulleys, and an aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The full package fires up with an authoritative low tone, but it's nothing to wake the neighbors. So it keeps a proper Jaguar attitude. The same goes for the newer 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission that's stout enough to handle all this power while also delivering easy overdrive comfort. This balance of strong construction and smooth performance continues into the suspension. You have upgrades from Gemini Racing, a Dana 44 limited-slip rear end, and Jaguar's famous independent rear suspension. Add in power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, and this is the powerful kitty that can handle the everyday drives.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and build receipts documenting the car's transformation. This is the cool and powerful custom Jag you know you're going to love. Call today!!!
