The XKE series Jaguar was an instant success from the moment it appeared at the automotive seen in 1961! Featuring monocoque construction, 4-wheel independent suspension & disc brakes, and rack & pinion steering. As each new generation... was improved from the last, it continued to offer more and more to buyers as the prestigious luxury sports car from England! This included improved brakes, better suspension, superior interior comfort, more significant cooling, and bigger displacement engines! The Series II came about in 1968 with wrap around rear bumper, larger reposition turn signals & tail lights, larger grill opening with twin electric cooling fans for better cooling, open headlamps, redesigned toggle switches on the dash, as well as twin Strombergs replacing the triple SU's under the hood. This well documented 1970 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe comes restored in Carmen Red over Black interior! Dispatched from England in March 1970, it remains optioned with its original, number's 4.2L DOHC Inline 6 cylinder engine and 4-speed manual gearbox! Features include telescopic steering column, chrome 72-spoke wire spoke wheels with winged spinners, 1" whitewall radial tires measuring 205/75R15, upgraded Grant leather wrapped steering wheel, and more! With a documented history dating back to late 1970's when the car was in the care of a Middleton, MA owner Robert Moppen, it later sold in March 1979 to Deborah Wong who had racing affiliation to Suffolk Downs Thoroughbred Horse Racing Track in East Boston, MA when the odometer read only 48,028 miles. She would enjoy this Jaguar sparingly for only 2.5 years before selling to owner Clarence Maloof of Lynnfield, MA with 48,903 miles, who would have the car restored & repainted immediately in October 1981 by Brookline Jaguar before presenting it to his wife as a gift. It would trade hands in 1985 to longtime owner Paul Gazzara of Nashua, NH. He would maintain ownership for the next 22 years, added limited mileage before commissioning a full engine overhaul in 2005 with new engine rebore, overbore pistons, new bearings, rebuilt head, rebuilt radiator, new clutch and master cylinder, stainless steel exhaust system, and more. Once hinting to a friend that he was thinking of selling his treasured Jaguar FHC, word traveled to Jerry Baker of Houston, TX who would purchase the car in November 2007 with only 50,800 miles on the odometer! Staying in Texas for the balance of its life, it would end up in San Antonio. Today, the odometer reads just 53,248 miles which appear to accurate based on historical records provided. It continues to run and drive wonderfully representing the rarest of left-hand-drive Series II E-Types built at only 3,785 units between 1969 and 1971. Accompanying this vehicle will be all original tire changing equipment and tools, original owner's manual, JDHT Certificate of Trust, and binder of ownership history. Act quickly Jaguar collectors as the market appears primed for another upswing in value once again!
