1986 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas Additional Info:

There's a distinct kind of cool to driving a Jag, especially this '86 classic. I've certainly had my fun. But alas, it's time to part with this old friend. Currently, my best guess is it'll need a new alternator to run. So, if you win the auction, you'll need a tow to take this vehicle home.
My history: I've owned the vehicle for a little over 5 years, and in this time I drove it 2-3 times a week for 3 of those 5 years, all within a 20-mile range. The odometer is not currently working, but at the time I purchased it, the title read 158,857. I'm guessing I drove it for about 10,000 miles. In that time, it has driven smoothly and solidly. A real joy, actually, especially with the power sunroof open! On my last drive, the alternator finally konked out. Previous to my ownership, I know of two other owners, both within the state of VA.
Issues I'm aware of:As previously mentioned, I believe it will need a new alternator to run.
Rear exhaust needs an affordable knuckle connector.
This vehicle has two gas tanks. Currently, only the driver's side is working and that is all I ever used.
Spare tire needs to be replaced.
Dash bulb (or fuse) needs replacing.
Odometer was working during my ownership but stopped. Could need a new fuse.
On hot days, one of the belts can let out a lovely squeal. I believe a tensioner needs to be replaced.
Cosmetically, paint needs repair above the driver side rear wheel. Rust bubbles under the paint are present above the passenger side rear wheel. On the interior, there's a tear on the leather of center console. Replacing the center console top would be the likely fix. An interior plastic light cover needs replacing. Some dash leather cracks present.
It has the original trip computer which is fun but not very helpful. The radio is not original -- replaced with an aftermarket Kenwood receiver with Bluetooth. So, you can do hands-free calling and music streaming etc.
So, as you can see, this car will take a little investment, but if you replace the alternator, I believe you'll be running. Contact me with any other questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
Reminder: The vehicle is not currently running. This is for pick-up only via tow truck, or if you can arrange vehicle shipping.
