Please read the following thoroughly:
A unique, long term, personal project that was nearly totally complete when my Mechanical Engineer brother passed on and his fabrication shop was sold. Thus, I lost my access to the proper equipment and work space to complete the few final details on the construction of this great car.Begun in 2004, this car was intended to be an example of what the unique Jaguar XJ-13 would have been if built as a road going GT roadster with electric drive.Basic Specifications:
  • Fiberglass body and aluminum box section chassis provided by Race Car Replicas of Detroit, MI
  • an Azure Dynamics AC 55 three phase Inductive AC motor, 280 Nm torque
  • 17 Valence 20 volt Lithium Ion IronMagnesiumPhosphate batteries, providing 22.5 kwh at 340 VDC
  • Azure Dynamics DMOC 445 Motor Controller with regenerative braking
  • Gear Vendors two speed electrically operated gearbox
  • Corvette C-5 Differential with silent chain andsprocket transfer case. 4.5:1 OA in low, 3.55:1 OAin high.
  • Wilwood non-power disc brakes
  • Curb weight 2,665 Lbs.
  • Fabrication and preliminary assembly completed in 2011. Titled, registered and put on the road in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Clear New Mexico title comes with car
Car comes with numerous spare parts and support items including:
  • Three 340 VDC battery Chargers (one non-operational)
  • Spare wheel and tire
  • Additional matching leather and wood to complete interior details
  • numerous spare electrical fittings, gauges, video monitors, testing equipment, and display boards.
  • Other Features:
  • Video blindspot and rear view cameras
  • heated seats
  • Electric door openers
  • Inner side of glovebox door personally signed (see photos) by Norman Dewis and Sir Stirling Moss! ( If you do't know who Norman Dewis is, he was a test and race driver for Jag in the early fifties (Le Mans) and famously crashed the one and only original XJ-13 during a publicity run around 1970 (the car has since been restored and sits in the Jaguar Heritage Museum.)
  • WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE:
  • Body work - rough edges andsmall divots need to be addressed. Also planned ground effect additions may be completed or deleted
  • Paint. Car is still in primer
  • Suspension adjustments - Only preliminary suspension setup was completed. car handles sufficiently well to bestreetable but suffers from distinct "bump steer." Final adjustments need to be completed
  • Interior details to complete include door panels and trim, windows, etc.
  • Car is being sold as is, with no warranty. However, the car is currently fully operational and roadworthy, with the notations as mentioned above. Of course you could also remove the electrical gear and fit the originally intended Jag V-12 with Porsche transaxle (NOT included) to make a really nice super car!
Please submit whatever questions you may have and I will answer thempromptly.
