1985 Jaguar XJS Additional Info:
***Relisted due to non-paying bidder. PLEASE read the terms of payment Before bidding and be sure you can meet them first. Thanks***
1985 Jaguar XJS; metallic gray with oyster leather interior. Car is in average shape for its age. Runs and drives but needs some work (it IS a 1980s Jaguar after all, and anyone who tells you theirs doesn't either never drives it or is lying through their teeth). The interior has the typical wood trim delamination and the stitching needs to be redone on the original Connely leather seats. The headliner fabric is there but also needs replacement. As far as mechanical condition, the car does run and drive but I think there may be rust in the gas tank, as it goes a few miles and then seems to run out of fuel. Once it sits overnight, however, it usually starts right back up again. When it is running, it does not overheat and runs smooth, so I think it may be a fuel issue. Also, when I replaced the fuel filter it ran great for a while but then started doing this again. Also, the climate control system is not working. It is not perfect but is pretty solid otherwise and would make a great car for someone to fix up and have a really nice classic antique Jag, and the no reserve opening bid reflects the condition of the car. I just recently bought a 1992 Mercedes 300SL and I don't need two sports cars, so it is up for auction. Plan on having it shipped home. Payment is expected within 3 days of end of auction by either PayPal or cash in person when picking up the car ONLY (NO other forms of payment accepted) with $500 PayPal deposit at close of auction. I can work with you on waiting to pick it up for a couple of weeks if needed to give you a chance to arrange your shipper, but the payment needs to be within the above terms. Please feel free to ask any questions, and thanks for looking. Please note that I also reserve the right to end this auction early at any point unless this auction has at least the opening bid on it. So IF you want the Jag, please do not wait until the last few seconds to try and snipe the auction or you may find it is no longer available for sale. Thanks, and good luck bidding.
On Dec-13-16 at 10:51:59 PST, seller added the following information:
This is a $2500 car located in Tennessee. If you are in a different country, or so far away that shipping would cost more than the car is worth, please do not bid. Also, IF you are bidding with the intention of running any sort of phishing scam (i.e. refusing to complete the transaction by PayPal or CASH (NOT any form of "bank check" with extra funds to be cashed by me and then given to your "shipper" when they pick it up, etc.) or in playing the game of "I can't get PayPal to work, and so I need you to give me your personal and bank account information so I can steal your identity with it" scam, PLEASE DO NOT BID. ANY bids that fit those descriptions WILL BE CANCELLED, and you will NOT be given any information that you are phishing for, PERIOD. The last "buyer" on this flaked on me in very suspicious circumstances, and now another "buyer" who sets up a new account today just to place a bid (and who is also in a European country) shows up to try again. NO thanks; not falling for it. So here's the deal. There are, at the moment, 15 people watching it. IF you are a legitimate buyer who will meet the payment terms and complete the deal over here in America, and you want the car for a nice older Jaguar that needs some work done to it as listed in the description, then please feel welcome to bid. But IF you are just another 419er looking to try the same old tired scams, GO ELSEWHERE.
