1966 Jaguar E-Type XKE Series I OTS Additional Info:

THIS IS THE ONE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!Complete 3 year rotisserie restoration resulting in 2008 JCNA Concours Championship Division 8th place in the nation.Three 2008 Concours scores were: 99.98, 99.60 - water spots on a bumper and a smudge, 98.95 deducted for 185/70 tire size and RED paint on the Jaguar wheel spinners. Whatever!!!Three score average was 99.51. See attached Jaguar Journal Feb. 2009 pg 21 Competition Results C-05 E-Typecategory.I have since painted the spinner lettering black (which I regret), put an updated radio in, a zippered rear window top, and new Vredestein 185 tires. I uploaded 264 photos of the restoration leaving nothing to the imagination at: xkedata.com/cars/detail/?car=1E12025 All of the 'incorrect' upgrade items were put back to original before the 2008 Concours season. Please take your time, there is a lot to see there. The comments at the bottom of the start page are also great. This car runs COOL in any weather! I drove it from Oregon through Las Vegas east to Texas in 108 degree weather. Then back up through New Mexico and down to Grand Junction Colorado in August for the 2008 Western States Concours. (That's where I was discounted for some water spots on the bumper...not a trailer queen) Anyway, the temperaturegauge never gets out of the safe zone all the way (even in stop and go traffic) and back through Utah, Nevada to Oregon. That was 4,000 miles of the current 10,466 miles on the odometer.I recommend you come and see the car in person, it drives like a dream.Daimler - Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate #16324 documents these original colors and sale in San Francisco California May 5, 1966.Please contact me with any questions I can answer or any photos you need.

All boxed sections, subframe tubes, bulk heads, bonnet and boot lid hidden structural areas were coated with self etching primer and liberally coated with waxoil after the paint work was complete-- see restoration photos.ALL original fasteners were dipped, glass bead blasted and freshly zinc coated like new. The engine has new standard pistons and cylinder liners after boiling out water passages. Internally balanced to perfection with aluminum flywheel which makes the engine amazingly responsive, (Original # matching flywheel is included)Cylinder Head was sent to Terry's Jaguar in Benton Illinois for the 'Cat's Claw' upgrade for more power, it works beautifully. Original 4 speed gear box renewed with new bearings, seals and gaskets. Final Drive changed over to 3.07 ratio gears all new bearings... Rear suspension completely brought to new condition.Speedometer and other gauges sent to Nosinger's Smiths Gauge repair service andre-calibratedfor 3.07, spot on accurate. All new wiring, glass - with original etching marks (windscreen, doors and headlight covers). Details details details!!!I just uploaded 24 pictures, not nearly enough to get so many details but please notice the attention to detail. The fit and finish especially is just stunning.
