1990 Isuzu Trooper LS Additional Info:
1990 Isuzu Trooper
This is the LS model with the proven and reliable GM 6 CYLINDER ENGINE and AISIN 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
Has always been a non-smoker vehicle.
All original.
Has good oil pressure at all times. The power windows and locks work. The fuel gauge even works consistently.
150,600 miles but will continue to increase by 75 miles per day as I will continue utilizing it as my daily driver.
Has A/C.
Serviced regularly.
Runs and drives very tight and smooth. Drives straight without pulling or shimmy on the freeway. Drive anywhere the way it is.
If you would like photos of a particular area that might not be shown just ask.
I purchased this vehicle this past January before the blizzard hit. It proved itself very well and has been a fun daily driver.
The 4 wheel drive works in all positions.
Cruise control works. All power windows operate as they should. All power locks function.
The windshield is clear and without breaks or anything that would hinder passing inspection.
Does not leak any fluids but does have the common dampness around the valve covers.
A friend of mine recently purchased a Suburban and offered me his Tahoe at a price I could not refuse. I am unable to keep an extra vehicle so I am reluctantly putting this one up for sale.
During my ownership the following work has been done and/or parts installed:
New spark plugsNAPA Lifetime plug wires.New Ignition CoilParking brake lubricatedNew rear pads on rear.New rotor and caliper on rear driver side.New alternatorNew wipersNew exhaust from converter to muffler. The tailpipe is still needed but I have been driving without it.Both roll over valves replaced on top of the gas tank.
The reason for the above work was that there was a miss in the #5 cylinder. The last part that I replaced related to the ignition system was the coil. I believe if I would have started with the coil the miss would have been corrected. She runs smooth now though. When I purchased the Trooper the left rear caliper was sticking and that rotor and pads were shot. While I was investigating that issue I lubed the parking brake. Also at the time of purchase the muffler was badly decayed as well as the mid-pipe between the converter and the muffler. I replaced both pieces but haven't gotten to the tailpipe yet. The #5 miss diverted my attention. Soon after the miss was corrected the alternator decided it was done performing properly and expelled its internals! Anyone familiar with these first generation Troopers is likely familiar with the roll over valve gasket issues on top of the fuel tanks and how they dry out. While I had it off I took a good look inside of the tank. It is very clean.
The exterior of the vehicle is in good condition with original paint. There is body damage on the front right fender thanks to a deer testing the original owner's driving skills.
The interior is in good shape as well with little wear. The seats are all in good condition and clean. The driver seat is not badly ripped at the seam as is common but does show signs that a cover would be a good idea in the near future.
Tires are 5 or 6 years old with roughly 7,000 miles on them. They are old but in good condition with plenty of tread left.
The previous owner claimed to have purchased the Trooper 6 years ago and during that time only enjoyed it for 6,000 or so miles. He had young children and wanted a way to transport them in the winter and take them camping in the summer. I feel that most of the parts that I replaced and work that I did to the Trooper have been a direct result from the little use and from sitting so long.
The stock radio only works in AM. I have an aftermarket repair manual but do not have the original Owner's Manual.
The vehicle is located near Frederick, aryland and available for a test drive.
Pre-purchase inspection by buyer and or mechanics are welcome prior to the end of auction. If you are flying in I should be able to work out a schedule with you where I could meet you at the airport if needed. AmTrack also has a stop close by.
Clear title in hand.
