Very little rust for an international
Bought from 3rd owner
Vehicle history known since mid-70’s
Rust:
Floors are wonderful and very rust free. Bottom of front fenders are rust free. Small finger tip sized holes in rocker panels (as shown), passenger side quarter panel is very clean. Driver side quarter has some rust damage but is still in the early stages and can easily be saved. Doors are rust free, one body mount has some rust, rest are clean. Very clean overall. That's what attracted me to it. This is a really nice survivor with all its original equipment (except radio, that's been replaced).
Runs, drives and stops well.
New:
Fuel tank, sending unit, fuel pump, tune up, battery, oil change.
I own a small restoration shop and this truck belonged to a customer of mine. He inherited it after his grandfather passed. He brought it in for a resto, but and soon lost interest (mostly because of my complaining to him about cutting up an original Scout that was this nice)in doing anything with it. I liked it, so I purchased it from him. I got it running and then soon lost interest in it as well. So I am looking to sell it.
It was told to me that it is an original 30,000 mile truck. I do have some documentation to support that and can show it to you if you like. I have some old receipts for the truck. In 1997 There was an emission test and it showed 27,000 miles. The truck has sat outside all of its life, so the paint and interior is worn, but if you look at the truck I could see it being a low mileage vehicle. I will leave that for you to decide. Please bid as though it has 130K on it because I cannot provide iron-clad proof of the mileage. Previous owner says his grandfather bought it in the mid 70’s and the mileage is original.
At any rate, it runs and drives good now, neat little scout that can be restored or just driven as is.
It has a clear Colorado Title, but it is in the process of transferring into my name from the previous owner. That should not take long. I just wanted to get it out there and see what interest there was. I have a back bumper for it. Title is with the State of Colorado now, on its way back to me.
