1946 International Harvester Other Additional Info:

I have owned this truck since 1970 when I purchased from my dad. My dad purchased the truck from the original owner in 1957 when the owner retired and sold his General Store. The original owner purchased this truck as soon after WW11 as he could find one. He sold tons and tons of sugar and had used a wagon and a team of mules to haul his General Store supplies from the RR depot which was 28 miles from his store. His general store was located right on the banks of the Tennessee River right at the state line of KY and TN. Sugar which he sold so much of was used in making moonshine. A booming business during the 1920's thru the 1940's. By using the truck vrs the wagon and mules Mr. Reed could make the trip to pickup supplies in one day whereas with the wagon he had to spend a night. My dad purchased the truck for use in building a subdivision, trucks were not nearly as popular in the 1950's as they are today, not near as plentiful also. I came home from the military and purchased the truck from my dad and brought it to Texas in the early 1970's.
