So first of all, yes, this truck really has just 9k miles. It is a retired fire truck and spent most of its life out of the weather in a fire station. I recently picked it up from a local estate, and I am guessing he bought it 10 to 15 years ago. although it sat outside during that time it was under an awning and somewhat protected from the elements. There is no question about the miles when you steer the truck (as tight as new) or open and shut the doors (like new also) Also, the rubber on the pedals and rubber floor mat have very minimal wear.
All I have done to this truck is clean it up a little, add a battery and fresh gas, and check the fluids. I did have to add an electric fuel pump. It fires up and runs great, no smoke, great oil pressure. No leaks that I have noticed, the brakes work pretty well. The previous owner was a bit of a Chevy guy, and he replaced the carb with one from a Chevy. I'm not sure if he did this because the original needed re-built or if he just preferred the Chevy carb, either way I have the original carb and air cleaner, and they go with the truck.
This is an exceptionally straight and rust free truck that runs well, but I would recommend a good going over and servicing before you plan on regular use. Remember it did set for several years. Also - this truck still has the PTO that ran the water pump, so it would be easy to add a dump bed or anything else that runs off of a PTO.
This truck comes with a clean Kansas title, I am a licensed dealer which means I am bonded and insured. I would recommend an 18 to 20ft trailer to haul this on, it's not real heavy but it is nice to be able to get the weight where you want it. I hauled it on an 18+2 ft. bumper pull trailer and it hauled nice. Please call or text Cort @620-786-5172 with any questions, and please check my feedback from lots of old trucks - no disappointments! Also - I am fine with it setting here as long as needed free of charge while you figure out transport - as long as it is paid for. Thanks and Good Luck!
