1970 International Harvester Metro 1500 Additional Info:

Hard to find, 1970 International Metro Step Van. 1500M. Repowered with a Lincoln 460 Big Block engine (365HP) and a C6 automatic transmission. Aluminum body by Olsen. Originally from North Carolina. Mechanic owned and maintained since 1992. Starts easy, idles, runs, drives and stops. Frame is solid. Tons of power with the 460 in this shorty van. Only 17 feet long (10' storage behind the seat) it will fit on most single car haulers having 75" width clearance. A little over 6' of headroom in the back. It runs and drives right now, but needs some attention. Clear title matching truck vin.
Repaint was started, but not finished. Vehicle is exempt from odometer disclosure and true mileage unknown. Tires are weathered, but still hold air. Has a firm brake pedal but the prior owner had not connected the rear brakes because I believe he was going to put a different rear end on the van which is very common. The current rear end is fine however. Electrical needs attention although it looks like a lot of new wiring in place. The body is very nice but there is a dent in the passenger side door and the rear cargo doors have a slight wave but still close well. Door latches work, but need attention as they seem to work better from inside the van. Engine has an AC compressor still operated by belt but the vehicle has no working heat/air. Looks like the mechanic did a the heavy lifting by adding the big block engine and automatic transmission, now it's your chance to finish it up and make it special.

All required paperwork must be signed and returned prior to arranging pick up. Not less than 24 hours prior notice is required for pick up. Not available on Sunday.
