1966 International Harvester 1100A custom Additional Info:
This truck runs great, the original intent was not to have a museum piece but rather a good example of an vintage IH truck that you can still drive and use. Truck was taken down too the frame and painted the rust spots cut out and sheet metal welded in. The bulk of the rust was the fresh air tray under the windshield and the floor boards. New clutch, new gaskets on engine, compression test was about 140 on all cylinders. Engine is 304 with manual column shift 3 speed transmission. New windshield, tires, exhaust, clutch and the list goes on...... The items not done: spare tire mount not installed, sun visors not done, the window track felts are worn out so windows rattle some. The brakes need to be adjusted. Steering box seal leaks. Horn button in column does not work, it may be an easy fix. I got a copy of the original build sheet Aspen Green was the original color. Headliner material has some wrinkles in it I tried two times once with headliner glue once with contact cement. I had it painted at Maaco not a perfect paint job but again the intent was get the truck back as close to original with out making a show piece. I believe that the mileage is correct but can only guess on that suspicion. I installed LED taillights and turn signal/parking lights. Truck appeared to be a farm truck and it was shipped to Cobbs garage from IH plant, I recreated the dealer decal on rear fender below taillight Bottom line its not a perfect show piece.
