1965 International Harvester Scout 800 Additional Info:
I bought this to restore but a Fastback become available so decided to put my money in the Mustang. This scout has been sitting in a garage for some time so it needs some work. The top has 6 bolts and come's right off. The windshield lays down on hood but it is cracked. The body lines are all good and no damage anywhere, straight. It has been painted by someone but it's a horrible job, not much sanding was done for prep. The car has no rust underneath, floorboards are solid and also the frame is solid. It has heavy duty front and rear bumpers. Tailgate works good. Driver's window needs a track adjustment. Tires are actually pretty good and the rims, the center caps need replacing. It has a v8 engine which runs pretty good but the carb needs rebuilt. I drove it on my trailer and into my garage but tried to move it the other day but could not get it into reverse. I know it works because I used it. It does need a new shifter bezel and that could be the problem. It also has air in brakes from setting up. Their is a carb air cleaner that goes with it but not in picture. Also a spare tire rack. Rear seating also. Not sure about gauges but some do work. Exahust has a hole. This would be an easy off frame restoration, a few bolts and steering and the car lifts off frame. Also this is the Scout 800 which came late in that year and they are the better ones. Car is located in Austin, Tx 4 miles off IH 35.
