1964 International Harvester Scout Additional Info:
For Sale: 1964 International Harvester Scout - Modified
For Sale is (1) 1964 Scout. This Scout has been modified and is a blast to take out onto the trails. I'm selling this truck because I have an 8 month old and I no longer have the free time to utilize it as much as I should.
This is a '64 Scout that has been lifted by 3 inches, fitted with 33'' Tires, and modified with power brakes and power steering...making it much easier and fun to drive. An LED Light Bar was recently installed on the roll bar and looks/works great!!! The truck was also outfitted with newer shock absorbers, new tires with 85% tread left on them, new precision fit water proof upholstery, new power steering pump, center console, fire extinguisher, floor mats, water jugs, and ammo boxes to be used as too boxes or hold cargo. The truck's frame, floors, and interior were sprayed with bed liner...everything looks great. The truck doesn't have any rust and with the bed liner being applied it shouldn't rust in the future.
There is also a winch on the front of the Scout that is mounted on a receiver hitch. It's a 9,500lb winch so it pulls the truck with ease. The winch has also been upgraded with synthetic rope. There is also a receiver hitch on the rear bumper, so you can move the winch to the rear of the Scout if you're really in trouble and can't back out on your own. I've never gotten that stuck, but just in case. The 4 wheel drive works great! The last time I took it out was in early March when it snowed about 2 feet here in Denver, I took the Scout out on the virgin snow and it plowed through with ease...what a kick!
The Scout runs and drives well, I just rarely get to drive it anymore. There are two very small things that could be addressed. The Scout has a very small transmission leak, it's coming from the pan and replacing the gasket would fix it no problem. The other issue is really just a preference is all. The manual choke was discontinued and a heat coil/rod is being used in it's place. I prefer the manual choke is all.
Paint is in pretty good shape, I would call it a good 10-20 footer. This isn't a trailer queen by any means so please don't get that impression. The engine is the bullet proof international 304 V8 and runs well, carb was recently rebuilt, ignition gone through, new plugs and wires, power steering pump.
Like I said, this truck is blast, gets a lot of attention, is great to take into the Mtns, or drive around town when it's nice out. If I was in my 20's again it would be my vehicle of choice! Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping/handling, I can assist with arranging pickup or loading. I'm asking for a $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning the Scout. I have set a reserve of $10,000, I foresee the bidding could easily go higher with the modifications/improvements that's been done to it. Please contact me with any questions you may have as I want the winning bidder to be confident in what they're purchasing. Best of luck and happy bidding!!
