Up for bid is a mostly original 1962 International Travelall, 2-wheel drive C-110 model. NOTE: If you are interested in bidding on this vehicle but have 15 or less feedback, you need to contact me first. If not, then your bid will be retracted. Just trying to be fair to other bidders.
This Travelall started life in the Sacramento, Ca area by the original owner, a Vetrinarian who ordered the vehicle new. After many years of use, the vehicle was sold to a custom hot rod shop just South of Sacto in Lodi, Ca. The vehicle was used as a parts runner for several years as well. Unfortunately, the owner suffered fromseveral major medical issues and the vehicle was parked outside in the elements for several years. A friend and customer of the shop owner, purchased the vehicle, performed some basic maintenance and replaced some parts to get roadworthy which it is.
The vehicle is equipped with the big 265 Cu. Inch 6-cyl engine, couple to a 4-speed trans with a granny 1st gear and a 4.10 rear ratio. Vehicle also has the Powerloc rear end, Power Steering, Mark 1V Air-conditioning with still works ok. The vehicle was also ordered with a PTO winch, but was removed and a factory type chrome bumper was added. The hood was also replaced and repainted the same Whitecap white paint that the original paint still shows. Vehicle shows 58K but unknown if original miles. Rear seat appears to be original, front seat was re-upholstered way back when, headliner, rubber mats also appear to be original, but the front mat is gone. Front and rear floors show only surface rust with no rot out. Thebody overallis in very solid condition but has scrapes, some small dings, paint chipsand creases and some bubblingon the rear passenger roof area, (see photo). Front windshield has a crack and the two front windwing windows show some bubbling. The side, rear 1/4 panel and barn door glass is in very decent shape.
Doors close solid but the rear doors need a good adjustment but still close. Wipers all work, all gauges/lights, 4-way emergency flasher all work. The horn does not and the defroster button on dashis missing. A Fram air-filter with the paper element was added, but I have the original oil bath type. NOTE: The tires have great thread and are holding air, but are dry-rotted from sitting. I would not recommend this vehicle be taken on the freeway and only in town until tires are replaced. I drove for several miles with speeds up to about 35 and was ok. Top speed on this rig is about 55 MPH and specs show max of about 3400 RPM'S thanks to the 4.10 rear-end. The vehicle runs well, shifts fine thru the gears, has good brakes with a working E-brake and a strong clutch. I just changed out the oil and filter. This vehicle was also ordered radio delete. A 1-pin wiring harness was added to the alternator, but the original generator is gone. I also have a spare mounted on a factory rim and was removed to show the rear wheel well with no rot. This is a truly unique and different vehiclefrom most SUV types of that era and don't come up for sale very often.
I've placed a reasonable reserve based on overall condition. I accept Paypal for a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 and must be received within 24 hours at the close of auction. Balance can be made with cash in person, a cashier's check and/or a money order. Winning bidder is responsible for their own shipping of the vehicle.
