I didn't get as much time to work on it today as I had hoped and was only able to flush the fuel tank, clean the lines and settling bowl and replace the settling bowl gasket. I did manage to get fuel to come to the carburetor. however the needle and seat are letting it leak and it is not picking up fuel on its own. When primed it would start immediately. I plan to remove and clean the carburetor tomorrow.

I removed the carburetor and cleaned it out, the emulsion tube was stopped up and the needle and seat were not clean and operating properly. I cleaned all, checked for proper closer of needle and seat and installed new gaskets. I will reinstall and adjust the carburetor in the morning. Also the truck has both hand crank and electric start, I had forgotten to mention that.

The carburetor is still not working just right., and I removed it again and the emulsion tube had stopped up again, so it is now disassembled and being chemically boiled out to ensure that it gets completely clean. I will reassemble and reinstall and adjust again in the morning. It is starting immediately when primed so this is only a fuel pick up problem.

As of today the carburetor is rebuilt reinstalled and adjusted. the truck is running as it should. It gave me a little difficulty as the petcock at the fuel tank got some dirt in it a second time and was restricting fuel flow. I have temporarily bypassed the settling bowl and added an inline filter. Truck now starts easily and engine runs smooth without smoking, and the oil pressure gauge only reads to 10 but the needle reads to the 10 mark. Truck will be able to load itself. Please e-mail with any other questions.
