1973 International Harvester Scout Full Top Additional Info:
And as they say...A picture is worth a thousand words AND I am lazy. So I will let the pics give you details!
This is a 1973 International Scout II.
It is a California truck so the typical rust areas for Scout II's are in really good shape here.
Now before you say anything about the floor pans...The truck was previously owned by a 93 year old man. When he couldn't drive it any longer he parked it 3
years ago with the windows rolled down half way. No I do not know why...sorry. But we do get rain in California and it sat pooled in the floor boards and
rusted the floor pans. So they are toast... as the pictures show. But the undercarriage, drive train, frame all are real good.
That being said...
It looks to have the 345 V8 engine. Someone stole the air cleaner and the air conditioning pump is missing.
According to previous owner. The truck ran great. Just testing the engine... it isn't stuck...it does turn over...it does have good compression. Think the starter
is bad or the switch is out.
He did use this for a work truck. LOL It actually had the full top. He didn't like it. So he customized his own Cab top. So that is why it doesn't have the typical
cab top. Interior is rough as seen in the pics.
It would make a great off road project or a good old work truck or great for parts. Like I said. There are good parts on this old baby and the reserve is low.
We are selling it as a roller...not as a running vehicle. Did I mention a low reserve? No warranty or guarantees. You get what you see. So we are making sure
you have good pics.
He had a title. It was clear but he lost it. It is currently on Non-op...so no fees are due. He did sign all the paperwork to file for a lost title already.
Body, Fenders, doors, rockers while they have a few dings...are not rusty.
Windshield does have a crack.
Windows do roll up and down.
Doors open and close fine. I know these years have trouble with the doors. This one is good.
No bondo that we can find. It is pretty solid (minus the floor pans).
Under the hood looks like all original. (except for missing parts of course!)
It does have dents and dings...but overal body parts are good.
Interior instrument panel cover is gone. Don't even have a clue on that one!
After sitting 3 years...Tires are still holding air. So that is good.
Now I have told you all I know. Scouts really are an awesome little 4 wheel drive vehicles!
