1971 International Harvester Other Additional Info:
Up for auction is my treasured 1971 International Harvester custom pickup. You never see these! Lots of old Chev's and Fords out there but not a lot of these survived. This truck has only 15,000 miles since all the major work has been done. Garaged all year and stored all winter, ever seen the snow. I acquired this about 13 years ago. It came from the desert and is mostly rust free. I intended to make a custom work truck for my detailing business. It was an 1110 originally with a 6 cylinder. It had been converted to a full Chevy drive train as well as upgraded 3/4 ton 8 lug axles, ear I believe is Dana 60. I pulled the motor and installed a rebuilt 350 Chevy with high compression pistons and an RV cam. Added Edelbrock intake and carb. Real ceramic coated headers and Dynomax exhaust that I tucked into the frame rails and exit in front of rear tires. Pulled the Turbo 350 tranny and had it rebuilt as well. Truck runs strong and sounds awesome. The grill is from a 1974 (much meaner looking) but the original 71 grill is included. I added Firestone airbags in the rear with individual filler so you can level your load. Interior has custom buckets and a leather center console from a Harley Davidson F150. Had the windows tinted. Installed 3 point seatbelts and custom steering wheel. Wheels are great and tires have almost no wear on them at all. Ill throw in some extra parts like a new headliner and a full stainless steel trim kit that goes on the A pillars and around the drip rails on the cab. Runs strong and hauls weight no problem, mpty it really hauls. Last fall changed the oil, id the brakes all around and put a new battery in and put it in storage. Ready to go!!! Included are the tool box and ladder racks. If you don't want it as a work truck I'll remove them and well take $300 off the price. I'll remove the lettering either way. Paint is super shiny, ome minor spots here and there and a little dull on the roof, ut a real looker, t was my advertisement after all.
So that's the good stuff... Tailgate was rebuilt and repainted so the match on color isn't perfect but it's close. There is some rust on the door sills from the stupid cowl vents from this era but otherwise truck is pretty clean. Dash pad is cracked, ouldn't find any replacements so it has a dash rug on it and it covers the crack. The speedo is off since its a Chevy tranny but it's consistent so you can tell where you are. I estimated the mileage because I map my jobs so I know how far I've driven it. There may be a converter available. Any questions feel free to contact me. I included a picture from before I modified it (w the original grill) so you can see what it would look like if you wanted to strip it back down. The auction is for the truck with boxes and rack just to be clear. Truck is not perfect and I tried to represent it honestly. What you're getting is a super unique, reat running classic with tons of new parts that's been well cared for and is a driver you can just get in and go to work, ruising or a car show.
