1964 International Harvester Travelall Additional Info:
Why drive a common car? Why not drive something that everyone looks at. This 1964 International Harvester C1000 Travelall makes conversions happen. When you go to the gas station, someone will talk to you about this vehicle and might even have a story to share.
This vehicle has only two owners before me. It spent most of it's time in Hawthorne California. It's close to Los Angles. The next home was in Nevada. Lived on a ranch, and was part of a large collection of cars. It was kept inside and maintained. I only found surface rust in a couple of spots. You got to love the dry air.
Since my ownership, all four brakes have been replaced, the interior was reupholstered, and original matting was replaced by carpet. All bright work was taken off and I had the Travelall repainted the same color scheme as it left the factory. We repainted the interior a cleaner white than original and installed Dyno-mating.
The engine starts and drives as it should. It has no leaks. That's uncommon. The transmission and clutch are in great shape. Shifts well with not a lot of play. The engine is a 8 cylinder 304. Transmission is a 4 speed, of which one is a granny gear. I had the radiator re-cored.
The rear window does not operate. I have a new motor that needs to be installed included with the vehicle. The front windshield has a crack. Not in the drivers view. Some of the trim was replaced and stickers taken off of various places. The tires are old but still hold air.
This Travelall is not perfect. Here is a list of items that need attention. Two pieces of trim are missing. One is the bright work on the passenger side rear door. The other is a small trim piece that is missing below the drivers side mirror. The passenger rear quarter panel glass is not on the vehicle. It has a crack when I purchased it. I ordered this piece of glass twice and it came in broken both times. Kind of a sore spot for me. An electric fuel pump was installed. But you might want to go back to the original. Everything else is nice and original.
As for the interior, it needs a replacement piece where the stereo goes in the dash, and the horn button. The headliner is not installed. The cardboard (factory) one is included. Other items that are included are passenger side mirror, original fuel pump, weather stripping for the doors and front windshield gasket. A refurbished replacement motor for the rear window is included.
The Travelall is located in Naples, Florida.
