The previous owner did most of the work to restore this truck, but was unable to complete the project due to serious health issues. He was concerned about leaving a work-in-progress for his family to deal with. Our family has owned it for four years but we haven't taken the time to complete it as we hoped we would. The previous owner had it down to the frame, which was sandblasted and repainted. He did a lot of body work on this truck. He wasn't satisfied with some of the work on the cab, so he redid that work and primed the cab again, which is why the truck is partly in primer and partly in International Green. He had the engine rebuilt, put on new tires and replaced the glass, reupholstered the seats, etc.
It needs a battery (it's a 6V positive ground system), and while quite a bit of work was done on the brakes, they need work (there may be a fluid leak at the master cylinder), and it needs some wiring work. Door handles, door glass, hubcaps and other trim pieces are included but not installed, and it needs a battery box. The fenders and hood are loosely mounted, and need to be properly aligned. The previous owner just mounted them quickly when he decided he needed to sell the truck. We've had it started, but have never driven it.
According to the title and the previous owner, it's a 1942 K3, though it has a plate on the firewall that calls it a KB3, which would make it several years newer. We assume the plate is not original.
