1994 Honda Civic Additional Info:
I am the original owner of this car and have followed the recommended maintenance for it. Almost all maintenance was done by dealer; I've saved the invoices and am happy to show them to you. I use this car at least once a week and everything is working except for the air conditioning.
The last maintenance was an oil change on 3/31/2016 at my dealer dealer. See photo of their multi-point inspection; details included on invoice are:
Upon inspection the A/Ccondenserseverelydamaged.Upon inspection the radiator cooling fins are all broken. Further inspection is needed.
Despite the dealer's comments about the radiator, the car has not overheated so far this summer.
Other maintenance information:- Exhaust System
The entire exhaust system from the catalytic converter on back was replacedby CarXin September 2015; the catalytic converter was NOT replaced; it is the original.
- Tires
All four tires were last replacedMay 2013; one at Sears (?) following a flat in Wisconsin and the other three atJust Tires in Deerfield IL. A spare tire is included with this car.
In 2006 (?) the ignition switch was replaced but the door locks were not. Consequently, two different keys are required for this car, one for the ignition and the other for the doors/hatch.
The moonroof is sometimes a bit touchy: the motor doesn't stop after it's completely open. I just press the close button to stop the motor and the moonroof stays open. I suppose that at some point a repair will be required. The ceiling cover attached to the moonroof cover is falling off/down.
Items installed on this car at time of purchase:
- Air Conditioning
Installed by Honda dealer
- Honda Floor Mats
Both front and back seats.
- Alpine 7513 AM/FM Cassette 35W Stereo
Speakers installed in cargo cover. Replaced front panel in 2003.
- Alpine 5960 6-CD Changer
Installed on back of driver-side rear seat.
- Sony XS HL35 Speakers
Installed in driver and passenger doors.
The car was involved in two accidents in December 1994. They each resulted in significant body damage but I'm not aware of any damage to the frame or other parts that were not replaced. There was a very minor fender bender in February 2007 that damaged only the tail light lens and it was replaced.
