1989 Honda CRX SI Additional Info:

Honda crx Y49. Becoming a rare bird these days, I do not see CRXs for sale much let alone one of these models. Obviously not oem/stock anymore. B20VTEC powers this hoss. Engine was built right. ARP head bolts, ARP rod studs and main studs w/ girdle so this girl can rev high all day with no problem. JDM block and head with approximately 4000 miles on it so it’s just broke in now and ready to be rode hard. Has no A/C or heater and the battery is the passenger floor board. The battery can fit in the engine bay, just have to change out air take to a smaller one. There are some electrical draws in the system so I like to keep the battery disconnected for long periods. I don’t drive this car much at all but it is turn key and dependable. I have drove this car three hours out of town before during summer with zero problems. The hood and sunroof are carbon fiber. The hood has a cut out so the hood can close without hood risers and the sunroof works good. Took me many, many hours and and a lot of looking and money to get it restored. Rare to see these work anymore. Has a new gas tank with walbro 225 pump and assembly. About the only thing that does not work is the fuel gauge. I’ve replaced the float, replay and connections. It’s in the gauges cluster. I have another cluster that will come with the car. The passenger side A pillar is the worst thing on this car. Needs body repair on this spot and the rear bumper is marred up. Can be easily repaired or replaced. The hood, sunroof and the bumpers have been resprayed in preparation to get a full y49 paint job and body work, but this is where I stopped. Life hit hard so I have no need for this fun toy anymore. The tires will rub in hard racing so I have some fiberglass wide fenders to put on. I was gonna install and rattle can them but I’ll leave that to the new owner. Tires were brand new when engine installed so very fresh. This car turns and stops on a dime. The leather seats and steering wheel are from the euro market. Not flawless by any means but so hard to find and is the way Honda should of gave the US the CRX. Makes the car feel special. Hondata ecu and program, comes with another ecu that is chipped and air/fuel ratio gauge. Pretty much nothing is stock on this car. The headlights are aftermarket bright ones that screw into the glass stock fixtures. Brake lights are all LED. I will try to list everything but I’m sure I will forget a lot. I will be glad to answer any questions or concerns.
