1984 Honda Prelude Additional Info:

Bought new at Huntington Beach Honda in Southern California and it remained with its original owner in HB until August of 2018. The car still sports its original blue California license plates! He was meticulous about the car as you can see from its condition and it has been garaged its entire life. When was the last time you saw one of these unique cars let alone one in like-new condition?!

The painted finish is in terrific shape and as far as I can tell is original. There are a couple small spots that the original owner has touched up by hand but that doesn’t detract from the overall impact that the car has. People go crazy when they see it recalling fond memories of Preludes that they, friends or family drove. The black plastic tops of the bumpers are a bit aged and the clear coat on the pop-up headlight covers is flaking – but it’s really not bad for a 34 year old car. The interior is amazingly preserved with all the factory upholstery in terrific shape! The driver’s seat base bolster needs some new foam installed by a good upholstery guy but the fabric only has minor wear. No cracks in the dash and the door panels are in good shape as well.

All the car’s features work with the exception of the air conditioner. The original stereo is in the car as well as the optional Honda equalizer. All Preludes came standard with a power moonroof.The car starts right up and is a strong runner! It is smooth and quiet in town or on the freeway. In true Honda fashion the 5-speed manual is a joy to shift. The car is a blast to drive because of its design and very low hood line, it is like nothing else on the road. In addition to the graphic equalizer, it has genuine Honda accessory alloy wheels as well as front and rear accessory mudguards. The car has floor mats but only the front passenger mat is an original accessory mat with the Prelude logo displayed.

Included with the car are the original window sticker, owner’s manual, warranty book, audio manuals, factory service and electronic troubleshooting manuals and even the original starting instructions that Honda wrapped the driver’s sun visor with. All three original keys including the valet key are included as are the original tools. The original owner supplied a handwritten list of significant work that has been done in recent years:

2011 - New radiator

2012 – Rebuilt power steering

2014 – New shocks all around

2014 – New tires

2014 – New battery

2017 – New timing belt and water pump

This Prelude is an amazing 80’s time capsule that makes you smile each time you drive it!It is rare to fine one of these cars at all let alone in this condition. Because it is a Honda it can be driven and enjoyed for many years to come! Iwant there to be no misunderstandings or disappointments. This is a 34 year old automobile. I have done my best to represent it accurately. The winner of the auction is purchasing it as-is - no warranty is offered. The buyer is responsible for local pick-up and/or transport of the vehicle.
