1972 GMC K1500 Additional Info:

For Sale | 1972 GMC K1500 | 350 small block engine with manual 3-speed on the column and 4 wheel drive. The truck was originally purchased in January of 1972 in Gassaway, WV. I am the third owner. The truck has all of the original GM body panels and had some paint work performed in the 1990s. The truck had 26k miles when I purchased it back in 2000. It has spent most of the last 25 years in storage and it currently has 41k miles. It is a very clean truck that is very fun and reliable to drive.
Options

  • Power brakes | front disc and rear drum
  • Power steering
  • 3 speed manual transmission on the column
  • 4wd

Maintenance and UpgradesI have kept up with the maintenance and made several upgrades to fine tune the drive-ability. The truck currently has:
  • A new Edelbrock model 1906 AVS2 carburetor with annular boosters.
  • A new proportioning valve in the brake system.
  • Two new mufflers
  • A new wheel seal in the rear passenger side
  • New wheel cylinder in the rear passenger side.
  • A new 3-line fuel pump.
  • A new fuel sending unit in the tank that has the return line for circulating the fuel.
  • New fuel lines (send and return).
  • New spark plugs.
  • A new HEI distributor.
  • New plug wires.
  • A new alternator with internal regulator.

Fuel System UpgradesThe fuel system has been upgraded. The fuel has been circulated back to the tank with a 3-line fuel pump to keep the fuel cool, intended to address vapor lock conditions when sitting in traffic on a hot day. The carburetor has also a 1/2" Edelbrock wooden spacer to prevent heat soak, which is a condition that can lead to starting issues when the engine is hot.
