1947 GMC 1/2 Ton Pickup EC-102 Additional Info:
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 24th year in the classic and muscle car business. GM formed the General Motors Truck Company in 1911 by consolidating the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company and Reliance Motor Car Company. GMC advertising has tended to focus on commercial buyers and businesses whereas Chevrolet trucks have been marketed more towards private owners. GMC trucks also had their own line of highly regarded 6-cylinder engines from 1939 to 1974. This cool 1947 GMC EC-102 pickup is a great example of an early postwar pickup that has more charm and character in a single fender than any new truck could hope to possess. Beneath the classic hood is the correct and probably original 228 I6 (BCN 6107326, EC A228143817), GMC's primary 6-cylinder workhorse from 1939 to 1952. Additional features include the optional 4-speed manual transmission, optional heater (!), and 6.50-16 wide whitewall tires on steel wheels with correct covers. There is a lot of cool here, but my favorite aspect of this classic is the excellent natural patina. We've had customers that ordered manufactured patina from paint shops, although it never looks as good as the real thing. One more classic charmer from the Texas Hill Country's premier source for classic trucks and the team that can make your dream a reality.
