1953 GMC Pickup Additional Info:
This is a 1953 GMC series 100 1/2 ton 5 window (2 corner windows) pickup truck. I bought it in June 2005. Previous title is dated 12-07-82. Inspection sticker on windshield is dated 2 1981-1982 (see photo). It was sandblasted in November 2007 (See photo). It is original exterior color permanent red, with original color brown interior. Base coats of primer and base coat of exterior red are on it. Body has dents and patches on bottom. I believe engine is original, with engine stamp A 228347990. Front bench seat is original fabric brown (see photo). I believe the transmission is original 3 speed on the column. I believe rear to be original, stamped J E I 09. (see photo). I believe all original parts to be dated late1951. All gauges work. Radio is missing. Heater works. Vacuum wiper motor professionally rebuilt. Electrical system is original 6 volt positive ground. Battery is good. Passenger corner glass is original, dated LOF VC. Front windshield is dated LOF NB with no cracks. Door vent glass is LOF, dated JE. Passenger door glass is cracked. Rear window was replaced in 1980, and is cracked. Rear glass needs new weatherstripping. Steel wheels are original, 16", 6 lug, with 16" Jeep tires on them. Hub caps are new GMC dog dish from Santa Fe Sales Co. Emergency brake works. Wheel cylinders and master cylinder replaced. Silicone brake fluid installed. There are numerous spare parts that go with the truck, including 2 complete doors, complete front suspension, front and rear springs, spare used master cylinders, grill, radiator, steering column and wheel, generator, starter, and 6' pickup bed (see photos). Unfortunately the truck needs an 8' bed, but 6' bed goes with it, purchased from Collis Truck Parts in Bath, PA in 2007. (see photos).Truck starts, stops, and moves. Pennsylvania title transferred from previous owner to me in July 2005. I have owned it for 18 years but never license plated it or drove it.Binder with photos, receipts, and documentation go with the truck.
