1954 GMC 100 series 5 window Additional Info:
very rare truck, 1954 gmc 1/2 ton short box 5 window in line 6, 248 cu. with hydra matic 3 speed tranny. 10 years ago it experienced a total body off restro. all paint was removed and all mechanical parts were repaired or replaced and a new paint job applied. this truck was never involved in a fender bender of any kind. it is totally rust free. i am the second owner. it was built in oakland ca. and spent most of its life there. approx. 12 years ago the lady that owned it drove it to colorado.i acquired it from her when she became to elderly to drive it. when i did the restro. i wanted to keep as original as possible. i changed the charging system to a one wire alternator 12 volt neg grd and battery disconnect switch. i sent the wiper motor, carb, and gauges back the the factories and had them repaired or rebuilt as needed. everything works on the truck. other items that were repaired or rebuilt is the water pump, exhaust system,wiring, door glass, door hinges,steering wheel, seat covers,and all new oak flooring. the odometer was zeroed at that time and now reads 801 on it.at 580 miles i changed the oil and filter and lubed it. using valvoline vr1 racing oil. new tires were also added including the spare.some other items of interest are as follows, it has built in turn signals as required by ca. law in 54. 1st year with solid windshield, 1st year with auto tranny, last year of the 5 window's,factory windup clock, extra chrome work was preformed on it and it does come with the hood ornament. i haven't installed it you can if you want it on the truck. truck id #101-24-c-z5011. how to read as follows. 10=1/2ton, 1=shortbox, 24=248cu.i6, c=oakland, z=1954, 5011=assembly line number. any questions feel free to call me. ron at 9702092529.
