1968 GMC Sierra 1500 Additional Info:
This is an original 68 GMC shortbox 4x4 KE10. All vin numbers and tag prove it is a factory original 4x4 short box 8 cyl four speed. it now has a 6 cyl in it. This is easy to verify. That is what I am selling. The frame looks in great shape but I have no idea about powertrain because it looks like its been sitting for decades. The body is pooched. You are better off to put another cab and box on this chassis. They are out ther, you just need to look. ( 2 or 4x4 bodies are the same) Can be swapped over in a weekend
Its not at my home right now but sitting in Syracuse NY at a friends house. I had it shipped up from Florida and was hoping to find the time to do restore it but I will sell it now in the US or bring it up to Ottawa Ontario where I would probably do the restoration. These older models are very easy to restore and every single item is available new at LMC truck or used parts on the internet.
To be clear this truck does not have a box and the cab is very rusted out.... will need replaced. Ideal rebody candidate. Pictures show how nice the frame is.Youre value is in the vin number, title and chassis
Cabs are not too difficult to acquire and install. Used boxes are a bit hard to find in good shape but they are out there.I have found numerous used ones I could buy or a new box from LMC is also an option. The frame and running gear is all there and has no issues with rust but this truck is a non runner and looks to have been sitting for years. It now has a 6cyl in it.
S, if you want a good project that will not break the bank and want to end up with a very very rare truck this might be for you. Take a look online and try and find an original 67 or 68 4x4 shorty with vin numbers to prove it.1969 and up are more abundant.I am not needing a fortune for the truck but I will fix it myself if the offers aren't adequate. It has a good florida title now for US purchaser or I will get a good Canadian registration if I import it to Canada. If it goes to Canada add 550 to the selling price and I will get it to Ottawa Ontario
