VINTAGE MOTORCARS IS PROUD TO OFFER THIS 1971 GMC SPRINT WITH 402 V8, M21 4-SPEED, FRONT DISC, A/C, WITH A TOP-NOTCH RESTORATION
Body on restored, A/C interior, four-on-the-floor, big block power, and so much more make this an outstanding classic. And when you can get it in the more distinct 1971 GMC Sprint packaging, you know you have an all-around winner.
The GMC Sprint was a great way to get the look of an El Camino in a more distinct and truck-ready badge. Plus, not only are they a rarer sight today, but also 1971 was the first year for the Sprint name. But it's not just history that makes this one grab attention. There was a restoration in 2016, and it hasn't been driven much since then and always garage kept so the metallic glow they put in when respraying the factory-correct Mulsanne Blue still has the kind of modern shine that will bring home awards. And you can tell there was a ton invested in keeping this a stunner. It's in the crispness of the body panels, the mirror-like chrome of the bumpers, and even the condition of the bed underneath the protective tonneau cover. Plus, this one also instantly makes an aggressive first impression with great features like the power bulge of the cowl hood that's highlighted further by the painted white SS stripes. And with the hood pins, lowered suspension, and large American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, it really gets its performance image across.
Just like the El Camino, the Sprint shares a lot of Chevelle DNA inside. The seat, dash, carpeting, and door panels all benefit from having comfortable car-like roots and you can instantly see that the restoration really focused on making this look clean and comfortable. It starts with the grippy dual-spoke steering wheel, and that gives you an excellent view of the optional round gauge cluster that even includes a tach. This goes quite handy with the Hurst shifter. And while we know you love the look of the 8-track stereo (with The Doobie Brothers still in it!) there's also a nice upgrade to a satellite radio module next to it any time you want more modern tunes. All this makes for a comfortable cruiser, and that feeling is heightened even further by cold-blowing air conditioning.
A body on restoration also means the confidence of a rebuilt powerhouse. An engine bay stuffed with big block power always gets us excited. This one looks nice with the proper bold block, polished air topper, and matching valve covers. They even got the details right with GMC calling their version the "Invader" motor. This big 402 cubic-inch V8 is topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, so you know it makes plenty of power and has a sweet sound out of the dual exhaust. Best of all, you are in complete control of this powerhouse and its thunderous soundtrack with the close-ratio Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission. And don't forget to check out the clean undercarriage where you're going to see a ton of newer components for great driving. This includes the Wilwood front disc brakes, upgraded springs, power steering, and thick sway bars front & rear.
This is the fantastically restored and distinctive Sprint that looks and drives better than new. An all-around stunner like this is always desirable, so don't miss your opportunity. Call today!!!
