If you have been waiting on a clean rust free truck to pop up this is it. 85,000 original miles was just used a few times a year to pull a travel trailer. The paint is all original with the exception of the tail gate has a fresh repaint and the driver side dually fender was busted and repaired at one time.
Overall the interior is really clean for its age. The dash has the typical cracks the most of the square bodies get and the front seat need to be recovered. I have crawled all around the truck and the is no rot to be found anywhere. the cab corners and rockers look to be as solid as it was on the showroom floor. I can't remember anytime is recent years seeing one of these truck with no corrosion in the cab seems of the door jams but this one has none.
The truck runs, drives and stops great and is a dream to drive around in. The TBI 454 feels strong and the TH400 shifts solid. The rear axle is also quiet. All 6 tires are close to new and have 80% or better tread.
All the windows work but as the norm with these truck some are slower than others. One of the door locks does not seem to be working. The is an aftermarket radio in the uncut dash but does not power on.All the A/C parts are together and intact and still has R12 fittings so it has not been converted to 134a. The compressor does not kick on so it could be low or there may be another issue with the a/c.
Looking around the truck I noticed a little bit of a leak from the hydrobooster so that will need attention some time. I have put about 200 miles on it and the service engine light has popped on a few times. It has not affected the performance and there have been no codes that have stored.
There is some light hail and some minor dings around the truck. Hey its 30 years old so a little character is to be expected. The driver side tank has some sort of sender issue. I shows way past full. The motor is pretty caked with New Mexico red dirt so it could use a good steam cleaning.
I list my stuff with 100% honesty. Its truly an exceptional truck but I share the information I would want to know before committing to a vehicle that I might want but can't go look at in person. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Clear Texas title.
Good luck and happy bidding
