1956 GMC 100 SERIES Additional Info:

Up for sale is my 1956 GMC 100 series pickup project. It is a factory 317 Pontiac V8 engine and rare Hydramatic Automatic transmission. It is a big window RUST FREE cab with replaced cab corners. I wanted to paint it in a "driver" quality job, reinstall new glass, restored gauges etc but we only got as far as doing the correct "Aqua Blue" paint inside and out and added the also correct "Bombay Ivory" roof and window trim paint, because about that time I ended up finding and buying a running driving all-original 55 GMC that was so nearly identical to what I was trying to build, it didn't seem worth continuing building this 56. Still, I wanted to keep it for the longest, but I guess its sat in my building for long enough. I was going back all-original so I cosmetically restored the original engine and re-did the brakes, but later switched the rear end out for another truck, so the brakes on the rear end under it now are not restored. I had the original radiator rodded and re-painted and for those of you who know, these are VERY hard to find radiators for the GMC V8 trucks - they are a Pontiac design, unlike a Chevy would have. I bought a real nice front bumper and bombs and had them shipped from Arizona and they are what you see in the picture above, but later I ended up removing the bumper and bombs and sticking that on the 55 I bought, so the bumper and bombs you get with this truck are not the ones pictured above, but instead the un-restored slightly dented and scratched up front bumper and bombs off my 55. I installed NOS GM park lights (650.00 worth) in the mustache upper chrome grille you see in the pictures - these are very rare and expensive. I have a mint set of re-chromed 55-56 front bumper bombs I could let go of for the right buyer and separate price. Currently, this truck has no bed because it is a longbed truck, and I bought a short wheelbase correct V8/automatic frame to put it on and was going to switch it to a SWB that way. With that, I acquired a beautiful dent and bondo free short stepside bed for it, so if a person wants to continue what I started, I have the short frame and bed available separately. Pictures show factory power brakes on the inner fender, but that was removed to go on my 57 GMC so this truck only has standard brakes as it is being sold.
At the stage where the truck is now, a person could easily switch gears and buy this truck only to turn it into a great hot rod - if someone wants to do that, and does not want the original steering column, radiator, engine or trans, then we can agree on a lower price by say 1000.00 bucks off my Buy it Now or something. Likewise, we can also agree on adding the bed, frame, restored bombs, or a whole host of other 55-59 GMC parts I have laying around. We can also discuss a trade - gotta be something I'd want though, and all I like is 1955 2nd series through 1966 Chevy and GMC trucks and related parts and goodies. Original stuff for me - not modified. If you have questions or ? Text or call Steve at 256 486 1988

TITLE: the state of Alabama did not issue titles for vehicles until 1974 so what we have here is a registration document you take to your DMV and they make you a title from that. All title bearing states have a method to produce a title for vehicles bought in non-title bearing states.
