FYI - been getting requests for trades. Sorry, I can't do trades. Need cash to help cover kids' college expenses.
Owned for 12 years and did complete restore on it 10 years ago. The rebuild was extensive. The only thing not reworked was the front differential - new axle shafts but no differential work. Mileage shown in picture - 50k - is since last rebuild. New Speedo was installed at that time. Truck started life as GMC C30 and was converted to 4x4 with Dana 44 front long before I got my hands on it. Basically I replaced everything that was screwed up and I added a Gearvendors Overdrive. This truck cruises along at 75mph while turning about 2500rpm. What's better than cruising is splitting 2nd and 3rd. Anybody who's driven one of these trucks knows the step from 3rd back to 2nd is big. It sucks if you have to downshift but with the O.D. you can just do a half step back which makes towing a lot easier.
Jasper 4-bolt 350 w/ RVcam.
4-speed granny geartransmission - (SM-465 - I think?)
bulletproof gear drive transfer case from '72 blazer -NP-205
gearvendors overdrive
Dana 44 4.09 front
GM 14-bolt 4.10 rear
Base model but everything works.
Truck is loud so put in stereo system that's louder.
Aluminum radiator with dual fans. NO OVERHEATING ISSUES.
Good frame (southern truck), good solid bed all 10yr old body repairs were made with metal NOT BONDO.
1-ton Skyjacker suspension system. NO BLOCKS. Very smooth ridefor a 1-ton. Did just enough liftso I could get good clearance on the 285-75-16's. Truck has correct Speedo gearing so the 285's read correctly on the dash speedometer.
Sell price includes other items that are truck specific. Ladder rack, light duty cattle racks, original 4-speed transmission and the hub bearingsockets.
I want to be clear. The only mechanical thing on this truck that's older than 10 years or has more than 50,000 miles on it is the front differential. Everything else, including u-joints, were replaced or completely rebuilt. Body needs some newwork and paint. Needsnew rear bottom cab corners and rear bottom of rear wheel well on drivers side. Everything elseis just surface rustand should be fine with proper prep and paint. Remember everything has 50k on it. Will need new tires soon and exhaust (replaced mufflers and extensions 2 years ago but rest of piping needs replacing now). Has a few drips - one from power steering lines and one at rear main seal. I run 10w-30 full synthetic and I don't think the 2-piece rear seal is capable of keeping it in. If I was running regular grade10w-40 I don't think it would drip. Thisis a good running truck, always starts right up, no smoking and easily makes it from point A to B.It has never let me down. The only thing about the truck that bugs me are the front doors. I replaced all the doors and the rear doors are just like OEM and fit perfect but the front doors are flimsy replicas which were a pain toalign andyou have to slam them shut to get them to latch.
There are only three upgrades on my wish list I never made to truck. To make it perfect it needs limited slip rear end, hydraulic clutch conversion and EFI kit (I hate carburetors).
Thanks for looking.
