1956 GMC Other Additional Info:
This is a 60 year old truck. So it has been around the block a time or two.
The engine has been changed to a 1970 or so Chevy 350 - V-8.
The engine does have the 487X casting heads that are great for low end torque.
I was told by Tom, the former owner that the 350 was rebuilt with a RV cam in it.
Plus the exhaust seats were replaced to be able to burn the unleaded fuel available now days.
It has a 4 brl carb and an after market intake manifold. I know the carb needs to be rebuilt.
The engine runs and will start up after it is warm. But needs starter sprayed to get it to start
when it is cold.
The distributor has been changed over to a HEI one.
It has a generator on it still.
The transmission is the Granny 4-speed.
The king pins were replaced in the last 8 years or so.
I got the truck from a friend who moved to Florida. But I have known him and his ex-wife
for some time. This was her daily driver until they got divorced. It had Volvo bucket seats in it.
They were in sad shape so I got rid of them. The seat is just a Chevy bench seat to have something
to sit on.
The rear fenders are gone. But you can order parts for this truck thru LMC. I know because I have put
somewhere near $1200 bucks in it. I have a box of extra parts plus new parts for the truck. I did
replace the vent windows with new ones. Plus I replaced the door locks, the ignition, the rubber gas
hose between the hard line from the tank to the hard line to the fuel pump. I replaced door latches and
striker plates. I also replaced the window roll up regulator and the latch on the passenger side.
The dash is there but the wires are not connected to the gauges. They need to be connected. Since I
bought the dash off of Ebay. I do not know for sure that they will work with out being worked on.
The dash that was in the truck was the wrong one, it was out of a Nova.
The breaks work, but must be pumped up to feel safe stopping.
I would not drive this anywhere. Use a flatbed trailer to take it home.
You can drive it onto the trailer.
Or pay some one to haul it for you.
I will not arrange shipping for you. I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning the bid on the truck.
The balance to be paid in CASH. Face to Face. No checks, no pay-pal, nothing but US Dollars.
I have a free and clear title in hand.
I have the truck for sale here locally in Englewood Colorado. So I do reserve the right to end this
auction at any time. If you have any questions, please email me or call me. I will be more than happy to
answer any and all questions. Dwain 303-870 - 8920.
