1988 GMC C1500 Sierra SLE
5.7 V8 / 700R4 automatic transmission
The truck runs and drives great. No noise or smoke from the engine. Transmission shifts great, no slipping. Steering is tight, goes very straight down the road, especially for a 30 year old truck. Brakes work extremely well. It has Powerstop pads and cross drilled/slotted rotors on the front so it will stop on a dime. It is very smooth and quiet going down the road, no loud rattles or wind noise. Engine bay is clean and leak free. Under the truck is very clean. The area around the back of the engine/front of the transmission is a little wet looking but it doesn't leak on the ground. The frame is clean and rust free. The underside of the cab and bed is clean and rust free. The body is very straight, never been wrecked. There is no damage to the bed sides and the inside of the bed is basically dent free. Hood, doors, and tailgate open and close as they should. It has normal scratches and dings for its age and the paint isn't the best, but overall its still in pretty nice condition. All lights and signals are in working order. The interior is in great condition. No cracks in the dash. The previous owner had the seat recovered and the headliner replaced.
Known problems:
This would make an excellent candidate for a restoration project. It is in great condition mechanically, all its lacking is a nice paint job. Or just drive it as is. I wouldn't be afraid to get in this truck and drive it across the country. Please look at all the pictures carefully and feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions. (812-457-2668) Test drives and inspections are alwayswelcome. Clean, clear Indiana title in hand. Buyer must arrange shipping but I will gladly assist in any way I can. Or you can fly into Evansville (EVV) and drive the truck home. A $200.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction's ending. Thanks for looking!
