1953 GMC Other Additional Info:
Today I am selling my 1953 GMC 2 Ton Stakebed truck. I had plans for it but never had time to get to it. Ever since I bought it I have stored it inside and out of the elements. This is a great parade truck, or a great place to start a project because it doesn't need a whole lot of work. It runs and drives great! The only "big" thing that I was going to fix was the Parking Brake but all that is needed to fix that is to get the shoes relined.
It has the original (To my knowledge) 248 GMC Straight 6 in it with 4 on the Floor. It also has a 2 Speed rear end with high and low and it goes in and out of them like a champ. The truck has already been converted over to a 12 Volt system but some of the gauges need to be gone through to get them working. The body is very solid. There is a little rust here and there but nothing to go nuts about. Like I said, it is a great starting point for a project. It has a few dents in the roof and here and there but it was used on a farm so what can you expect. All of the wood is there and is in great condition. It seems that it either has original chassis paint on it or it was redone because it looks pretty good. The Auxiliary gas tank on the side is not hooked up but I don't see why it couldn't be cleaned and hooked up.
Like I said, it is a great tuck WITH A TITLE and I hate to get rid of it but it is taking up space. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
