1959 GMC Fleet Side Short Bed Truck:

You are bidding on a very cool 1959 GMC Fleet Side Short Bed truck. This is a very solid truck and has very little rust. The floors, ab and box are in goodcondition. There is some rust in the lower fenders on both sides that is very common on these older trucks. New lower fender panels (not installed) will be included in the sale. Please see photos for condition. This truck has been in Texas for a very long time which helped to keep the rust at a minimum. The truck is painted the factory colors and there is really cool patina “rust” on the outside of the truck. I had the truck sprayed with a satin clear last fall. I also installed a new chrome rear bumper.

It has a 350 crate motor, Turbo 350 transmission and a power rack & pinion steering. The engine and transmission has about 10,500 miles on them from the previous owner. It has manual drum brakes front and rear.

The truck is lowered with a drop axle up front and leaf springs in the rear. The steel wheels and tires are in excellent condition with stock GMC hub caps. The interior of the truck is very original and the seat is in good condition. I installed new retractable seat belts. I also installed a new I did it tilt steering column which includes a new Lokar automatic shifter on the steering column, nd a brand new 1940 Ford steering wheel. There is also a new floor mat. There is a rock chip in the windshield (see photos).

THIS IS A VERY RARE AND COOL GMC TRUCK NOT A CHEVY. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SEEN ONE OF THESE!!!

This truck has a clear Illinois title in my name but it says flood on it. When I bought this truck it had a clear Texas title. When I sent in the paperwork for license & title to the State of Illinois DMV, heir system sent an auto-reply form letter to me stating that this vehicle may have been located in a “hurricane flood zone” and that I had to send this form to the previous owner in Texas and have it notarized stating that it was not in a hurricane flood zone. I sent this form to the address that I had from the Texas title and it came back undeliverable. Since I could not have the previous owner make this declaration, he State of Illinois DMV took it upon itself to issue a “Flood” title, ven though there is no reason to suspect this truck was in a hurricane zone. I have since learned that Illinois has decided to treat vehicles from coastal states in this manner. This truck came from the town of Celeste, st1>Texas which is north of Dallas, nd we all know that Dallas is not on the coast in a hurricane zone! I just wanted to be up front on this!
