1930 Ford Model A Additional Info:

This car is an all steel, heavily modified 1930 Ford 5 window coupe. It has a Flathead V8 with Sharp heads and a Sharp Intake with a Holley 4 barrel carb, and has a 5 speed manual transmission. It is 12 volt with an alternator. The hood was made by welding 2 hoods from 1940 Fords together. Since there is no grill, a second radiator was added to the trunk with coolant passing through the frame rails. Both front and rear radiators have electric cooling fans so the engine never overheats. There are 64 louvers in the hood and 132 in the rear deck lid. The hood and deck lid are held in place with Dzus fasteners. It has a quick release steering wheel, a temp gauge for each head, real B-17 bomber seats and seat belts, and a fire extinguisher.A high quality build and great looking car, it does have it's share of chips and scratches as would any "driver". I bought the car from Richard Rawlings - Gas Monkey Garage, about 3 years ago and have had a ton of fun. Richard bought it at auction for $29,150 plus fees and figured to flip it for $35k to $40k. Since I am 6'2"and the top is chopped, it is a tight fit for me. I am now looking for something with no top. So I would consider a trade. For a fee, I could also deliver.
This car was built as a tribute to a car built in 1953 by Art and Lloyd Chrisman. The original car is quite famous and was bought in 2008 at auction for $660,000, and is in the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, California. The cars are nearly identical in outside appearance. Please Google The Chrisman Coupe for a fascinating story.
