So did you start looking at this 1968 Ford F-100 Ranger because it's an affordable vintage pickup with a V8 and A/C? Nope. We know you love this because the tough-as-nails image of the Dearborn steel is being amplified by its custom sinister blacked-out appearance.Trucks from this era are always a great part of nostalgia because they remind us of a hard day's work. So when you combine it with the full blacked-out treatment, this Ford looks like it apprenticed with the grim reaper. This actually is originally a black truck, but the more modern re-spray gives it a sheen that makes it look like it consume all the sunlight around it. Forget the nice guy classic pickups with the chrome and wood trim; this F-100 makes a very different and intimidating statement on arrival. The brightwork of the front end has been silenced with matte black, leaving the Ranger red emblem in the center as a nod to its vintage heritage. Speaking of heritage, the bed is also in matte black, so it's still up to any task you can throw at it. Inside the blacked-out theme continues, but with a premium twist. The seats are a durable black vinyl with a comfortable cloth insert. This matches nicely with the door panels. The dash is, of course, black and coordinates nicely with the other deep dark elements on the interior. You slip behind the original-style black steering wheel and look out over Ford's original stylized gauge cluster. You're going to spot some nice upgrades like the cup holder center console and ice-cold R134a air conditioning, but don't think for a minute this pickup is out to coddle you. One twist of the key, and you can instantly hear a rumble that's perfect for this sinter-looking machine.Under the hood is a 360 cubic-inch V8 that's nicely presented with bright valve covers and air cleaner. In fact, the big blue block is probably the most of any color beside black on this whole truck! The motor not only looks well-maintained from the tidy engine bay, but it also fires up without hesitation. The Hedman Headers add some extra power to this machine, and just as important, contribute to the throaty roar that comes out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. The C6 three-speed automatic transmission and twin I-beam front suspension are heavy-duty features that are great for work or play. The same goes for the General Grabber ATS tires mounted on the blacked-out Pacer wheels. This truck is one of the meanest ways you can arrive on the scene, but it has been upgraded so you don't feel beat-up getting there. It offers all of this appeal for such an affordable price. So we know this will be out of our showroom and lurking in the shadows soon. Call today!!
