1966 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
This is a true 1966 Mustang GT Fastback with all the correct GT equipment from the factory. See photo of original window sticker.
Not a full rotisserie restoration but a very nice one. A previous owner completed the majority of the restoration in 2000. All receipts are available. During restoration the engine was rebuilt from the original “A” code Holly four barrel 225 horsepower engine to the 271 horsepower HiPo engine. Cobra valve covers, headers and the HiPo fender badges were added at that time.
The car has never had a color change and the new paint Job is pristine. The interior has been restored and all chrome and glass are in excellent condition. The tires are new vintage look red stripe on the correct GT styled steel wheels.
The car has matching VIN numbers and is registered in California. I purchased the car in June 2014. At that time it was appraised by Auto Appraisal Group for $43,000.00 for agreed value insurance.
Since purchasing the car, I have continued to fine tune the restoration investing another $5,000.00.The after market tach was replaced with the correct GT Rally Pac. New springs for the hood were installed to more properly align the hood and closing mechanisms. Door locks were replaced for smoother operation. All doors, hood, windows and trunk operate like new. The brake wheel cylinders were rebuilt and the manual steering completely gone through with new upper and lower control arms, tie rods and new bolt kits. Vintage Mustang of San Luis Obispo has done these upgrades and servicing since I have owned the car. There should be nothing left to replace or repair at this time.
The car has been driven very little since restoration, mostly to local car shows and has been garage kept. I have had the car professionally detailed quarterly.
The car runs and drives great.
A real head turner and conversation piece where ever it goes.
