1929 Ford Model A Additional Info:
Today I'm selling my 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup. Here's the story on this Truck. About 12 years ago I was buying 3 Flathead engines from an old time car collector. As he was showing me around I saw this 29 Roadster Pickup that I fell in love with. The story goes that he bought it at an estate auction in Dansville NY While he had it he painted the wheels and put new tires and tubes on the car. The wood wasrotten in the bed so he thru the wood away. (No-No). His plans were to restore the truck and paint it. I told him if it was me, I wouldn't paint it! We loaded up the 3 Flathead motors I bought and I left him my phone number just on case the truck ever came up for sale. 8 years later I get a call from the guy saying he was interested in selling the Truck for health reasons. I asked him if he painted it and when he said it was in the same condition as I saw it 8 years ago, I said I'll Take it! The Bed and rear fenders were off the truck and the wood in the bed was long gone. I have a wood shop so the wood part didn't scare me. I plained up some tiger oak and fit it to the bed. 6 coats of varnish on both sides with the last two coats done in Satin. Did I say I restore vintage wooden Boats?. To protect the original patina I rubbed Gibbs Oil on the truck to help protect theoriginal paint &surface rust. Gibbs Oil unlike WD40 can be painted over with out any issues. I just drove the truck out to take these pictures. Starts, Stops, Runs & drives & even the E-Brake works. What still needs to be done is wiring and the shocks will need to be addressed. All the other wood in the truck is original! I have a NY registration in my name.NY doesn't title cars or trucks until 1976. I'm also including a second dash panel as shown with the truck. Why am I selling it? Well I'm 70 and although I have an old Ford Roadster on the road It's time to down size. I live in PennYan NY on the Finger Lakes and I invite you to come to my Barn and look the Truck over. A short test drive around my barn is welcome. I never sold a car on E-Bay so if you have anyquestions feel free to call me, Jim and I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have. Call Jim at 585-233-7454 8AM to 8PM EST. Thanks for looking at my old Truck and give this baby a GOOD HOME!
