This is my 1953 Ford F250 Truck..it is a very mild custom (side trim from a 55 Fairlane, gauges from a 55 Crown Vic and an upgrade to a 12 volt alternator)...Truck runs well with it's original (rebuilt) flathead V8 and 4 Speed Transmission. Added dual exhaust that stops just past the bed (under the bed)...
Body is solid and fairly clean. This truck was worked on in the past but I did replace cab corners, rockers and fenders (found clean front fenders from a fire truck)...also found a clean pair of running boards which are nearly impossible to find for a F250. I painted the truck with a foam brush and covered in clearcoat satin poly...I like to think of it as good from afar but far from good...it would be easy to clean this ol' girl up and hit it with a coat of paint...my goal was to get it on the road...
I took this down to the frame (painted gloss black) and replaced all brake lines, master cylinder and brakes. Also added a new, correct, gas tank and fuel lines (with electric fuel pump). Radiator was re-cored and new, correct, water-pumps installed. New side glass, rear window, bed-wood, and tail lights also installed. This truck runs strong and cool and sits on four brand new Yokohama tires with tubes on original wheels with new caps and beauty rings (over $1,200 ). I drive this to shows on the weekends and have no issues.
Interior has correct seat which has been taken down to the frame, re-padded, re-foamed and upholstered in period correct black vinyl. Door panels and headliner added and covered in a cool, retro, leopard-skin print. Seat belts added for safety. Also installed a very nice sound system with sub, period correct, working, spotlight (from an old firetruck), fog lights from a 65 Pontiac and turn signals (which were optional in 1953). Some gauges work, some don't (fairly easy fix). All have been converted to 12-volts.
This truck can be enjoyed as-is or easily taken to the next level with a good paint job, new rubber mouldings, and some tinkering...not many of these around anymore.
