1966 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
1966 Mustang Convertible. Dark Blue Metallic with white convertible top. This car is an original "SPRINT 200," which was the commemorative edition that Ford introduced to celebrate the production of the millionth Mustang. Over $25,00.00 has been invested in this car. The intended ground-up restoration was started in the fall of 1980, with the purchase of all new ORIGINAL FORD sheet metal: 2 brand new front fenders; 2 brand new rear quarters; brand new hood, brand new front and rear valences; brand new tail lamp panel; brand new stone deflector; brand new headlamp bucket assemblies (including headlamp bezels). Remanufactured long block 200 cubic inch six-cylinder engine (required on the Sprint 200 edition) was ordered from FORD. In addition to the 200 cubic inch six cylinder engine, the other elements included in the SPRINT 200 EDITION are a long console, a chrome air cleaner, and blue-center spinner spoke wheel covers. The original air cleaner has been rechromed with triple-chrome plating. The original light blue console has been repainted. While not included, the wheel covers are now available as excellent reproductions of the originals. The two front bucket seats and the rear seat have been re-upholstered with beautiful reproduction two-tone blue upholstery. Brand new interior door panels (excellent reproductions of the original) and ORIGINAL FORD armrest pads with reproduction armrest bases are included. Brand new dark blue carpeting is also included. All of the mechanical components under the hood were replaced with brand new ORIGINAL FORD parts if available, REMANUFACTURED FORD parts if not. Brand new ORIGINAL FORD battery tray was installed. Four brand new Ford shock absorbers were installed. New white convertible top was installed in 1981. Manual top assembly was replaced with power top assembly in 1981. Manual top assembly was replaced with a power top assembly in 1981 (dash component still needs to be installed). Floorboards (right and left long fronts and rear panels) have been replaced, but work is still needed on the underside. Trunk boards have been replaced. The rest of the car was very solid; all of the frame rails were in excellent shape and did not need replacement. My intended restoration was interrupted by college, and then entering the real world. The dream, unfortunately, died a long time ago. Now is the time for the right person to steal this car and turn it into the beautiful car that it deserves to be! This car was last started three years ago, and the engine purred like a kitten. The gas is now stale; the gas tank needs to be drained, and fresh gas added. The successful bidder will need to do this. There is also no battery. The car, therefore, will need to be hauled off on a flatbed or some sort of vehicle capable of hauling it. A deposit of $500.00 will need to be made through PayPal by the successful bidder. The balance will need to be wired directly into my bank; I will provide the proper wiring instructions to the successful bidder.
